Prior to installation
Important: Ensure that a qualified electrician, or
a person trained to carry out electrical installations,
performs the electrical installation. Ensure that you
do not install the light at a height, which presents a
risk of injury.
■Familiarise yourself with all the instructions and
diagrams in this manual, as well as with the
light itself, before you install it.
■Prepare the installation with care and allow
sufficient time. Organise all parts and any
necessary additional tools or materials before
starting so they are easy to reach.
■Always be alert! Always pay attention to what
you are doing and always use common sense.
Never install the light if you are having
difficulty concentrating or do not feel well.
■Before installation, ensure that the circuit to
which the light will be connected is not
energised. To do so, remove the fuse or switch
off the circuit breaker in the fuse box (0 setting)
(see Fig. A).
■Verify that the components are not live using a
voltage tester.
■Be careful not to damage any electrical cables
or gas or water lines when drilling into the
wall.
■Please refer to the instructions for use for your
power drill.
Initial use
Installing the light
Note: We recommend assembling this product
with two people.
□Remove the fuse or switch off the circuit break-
er (0 setting) in the fuse box prior to installation
(see Fig. A).
□Mark the drill holes with approx 410 mm
horizontal and 17 mm vertical distance
between them.
□Now drill the mounting holes (Ø approx. 6
mm, 40 mm deep) (see Fig. B). Be sure not to
damage the mains connection cable (external)
11 .
□Insert the wall plugs 3 into the drilled holes.
□Fasten the ceiling mounts 6 in place using the
screws 4 provided.
□Before installing, remove the light cover 1 and
the LED tubes 8 from the light by unscrewing
them from the sockets with a ¼ turn (see Fig.
C).
□Press the fastening clips 9 and light base 2
together carefully and remove the cover 10 by
pulling it upwards (see Fig. D).
□Now remove the fixing nut 7 (PG screw
connection) from the light base 2 by twisting it
anticlockwise (see Fig. E).
□Feed the mains connection cable (external)
11 through the fixing nut 7 (PG screw
connection) (see Fig. F).
□Guide the mains connection cable (external)
11 through the cable outlet in the light base 2
(see Fig. G). Make sure that the double
insulation of the mains connection cable
(external) 11 reaches fully into the light base
2 .
□Connect the mains connection cable (external)
11 using the lustre terminal 12 (see Fig. G).
Be sure that the colours of the connected lines
match (L = black or brown, N = white or blue).
Protection class 2: this light is specially insulat-
ed and must not be connected to a protective
conductor.
□Screw the fixing nut 7 (PG screw connection)
tightly onto the cable outlet by turning it clock-
wise (see Fig. H).
□Make sure that the rubber seal tightly surrounds
the mains connection cable (external) 11 .
□Reattach the cover 10 to the light base 2 .
To do so, carefully press the fastening clips 9
