Switch on the product with the ON / OFF switch
2. The product will automatically light on as it
begins to get dark. The in-built light-emitting
diodes are a very long-life and energy-saving
light source. The light duration depends on the
amount of sunlight, the angle of light on the so-
lar panel and the temperature (the battery ca-
pacity is temperaturedependent). A vertical angle
of light at temperatures above the freezing point
is ideal. The battery does not achieve maximum
capacity until after several charge and dis-
charge cycles.
Start-up
Installation
Assemble the product as shown in Fig. A–E:
Remove the lamp shade 1 from the bottom
splash 6 by turning it counter-clockwise
(Fig. C).
Slide the ON / OFF switch 2 to the ON
position to switch it on (Fig. C).
Make sure the sealing ring 9 is secured in
place. Reattach the lamp shade to the bot-
tom splash and close the connection by
turning clockwise (Fig. C).
To attach the light to the ground stake, in-
sert the ground stake 8 into the opening
on the outside of the bottom splash (Fig. D).
To float the light in your garden pond, oper-
ate the light without the ground stake 8
(Fig. E).
Installing the product
Using the light with the ground stake
Push the assembled product far enough into
the ground (lawn, flower bed) so it is stable.
Make sure it is firmly positioned. Do not use
any force when assembling or setting up the
product, e.g. hammer blows. This will dam-
age the product.
Water use (e.g. garden pond)
Place the assembled product on the water
surface without the ground stake 8 installed.
Ensure the bottom splash 6 is at the bottom
(Fig. E).
Do not submerse the product in water: The
product is only protected from water so long
as the water does not exert pressure on it.
Remove the product from water when not in
use.
General information on selecting the
location
For optimal results, place the product in a
location where the solar cell is exposed to
direct sunlight as long as possible.
Do not position the product under shrubs,
trees, porches, etc. This will reduce the
incidence of sunlight.
Make sure the solar cell is not impacted by
other light sources, e.g. yard or street lighting,
or the product will not switch on at dusk. In
low light the product will automatically switch
on, and automatically switch off in normal
ambient light.
