AVVERTENZE GENERALI

- Gli elementi dell’imballaggio (sacchetti in plastica,

scatole di cartone, ecc.) non devono essere lascia-

ti alla portata dei bambini in quanto potenziali

fonti di pericolo.

- Prima di utilizzare l’apparecchio vericare che il

prodotto e tutti i suoi componenti non si presen-

tino danneggiati. In caso contrario non utilizzare

l’apparecchio ma rivolgersi a personale qualica-

to o al rivenditore.

- Non tentare di riparare il prodotto, ma contattare

il Servizio Assistenza Clienti (Customer Service) di

Artsana S.p.A..

- Non aprire gli apparecchi. L’unità bambino, l’unità

genitore, le batterie ricaricabili e gli adattatori di

rete non contengono parti utilizzabili dall’utente.

In caso di guasto rivolgersi a personale compe-

tente o contattare il Servizio Assistenza Clienti

(Customer Service) di Artsana S.p.A. L’apertura dei

dispositivi sopra elencati potrebbe comportare

un pericolo di shock elettrico.

- L’Always With You Digital Audio Baby Monitor

Chicco non deve essere utilizzato come monitor

medico e non è inteso a sostituire la supervisio-

ne dei bambini da parte degli adulti in quanto è

destinato ad essere usato solo come supporto

per la loro sorveglianza. Ogni altro utilizzo è da

considerarsi improprio.

- Posizionare l’unità bambino e l’unità genitore

fuori dalla portata del bambino su una supercie

piana e stabile

- Tenere l’unità bambino, l’unità genitore, le batte-

rie ricaricabili e gli adattatori di rete AC/DC fuori

dalla portata dei bambini (il cavo degli adattatori

potrebbe costituire pericolo di strangolamento).

- E’ essenziale controllare regolarmente il corretto

funzionamento dell’unità bambino e dell’unità

genitore in particolare prima di ogni utilizzo ve-

ricando che la ricezione del segnale sia eetti-

vamente possibile nella zona ed alla massima

distanza d’uso prevista.

- La massima distanza operativa è di circa 300 me-

tri in campo aperto senza ostacoli (la portata po-

trebbe però ridursi notevolmente all’interno delle

abitazioni in base a particolari situazioni ambien-

tali, disposizione delle pareti e dell’arredamento

nell’abitazione e presenza di strutture metalliche,

disturbi/ campi elettromagnetici di origine ester-

na e interna, muri in cemento armato o tra locali

disposti su piani diversi o a causa di batterie non

completamente cariche, ecc.).

- Non utilizzare l’unità bambino, l’unità genitore,

le batterie ricaricabili e gli adattatori in posizione

esposta ad agenti atmosferici (pioggia, sole, ecc.).

Qualora il prodotto venga utilizzato all’esterno,

l’unità genitore deve essere alimentata tramite

le sole batterie ricaricabili interne: gli adattatori

di rete forniti con il prodotto non sono adatti per

uso esterno.

- Per evitare il rischio di surriscaldamento, tenere

l’unità bambino, l’unità genitore, le batterie ri-

caricabili e soprattutto gli adattatori di rete AC/

DC lontano da fonti di calore, come per esempio

caloriferi, termostati, stufe, fornelli, nestre espo-

ste al sole, ecc.

- Non utilizzare mai (in modo particolare se col-

legati alla rete elettrica tramite gli adattatori di

rete) le due unità vicino ad aree o situazioni con

presenza di acqua come vasche da bagno, lava-

trici, lavelli da cucina o su superci bagnate. Non

immergerli o bagnarli. Non utilizzare unità ed

adattatori se caduti in acqua, in tal caso rivolgersi

a personale competente.

- Posizionare l’unità bambino, l’unità genitore e gli

adattatori di rete AC/DC in maniera da consentire

un’adeguata ventilazione, così da evitare il rischio

di surriscaldamento delle componenti.

- Non usare questo prodotto in prossimità di lam-

pade uorescenti (Neon) od altre apparecchia-

ture elettriche come televisori, motori, personal

computer, telefoni cordless, telefoni cordless

DECT ecc. Potrebbero interferire con il suo fun-

zionamento.

- Utilizzare solo gli adattatori di rete AC/DC forniti

insieme al prodotto o di tipo identico con me-

desime caratteristiche elettriche. L’utilizzo di altri

adattatori potrebbe danneggiare l’unità bambino

e/o l’unità genitore ed essere causa di pericolo

per l’utilizzatore.

- La sostituzione del cavo di alimentazione dell’a-

dattatore di rete non è possibile e pertanto, in

caso di danneggiamento, l’adattatore di rete non

deve essere più utilizzato, ma deve essere sostitu-

ito con un adattatore di tipo identico.

- Attenzione, non utilizzare un adattatore di rete di

tipo diverso da quello fornito con il prodotto da

Artsana S.p.A. in quanto renderebbe il prodotto

non conforme alle speciche norme tecniche

stabilite dalle direttive CE applicabili pregiudi-

cando la sicurezza ed integrità del prodotto. In

caso di sostituzione rivolgersi al rivenditore o ad

Artsana S.p.A.

- Assicurarsi che il voltaggio degli adattatori di rete

AC/DC (vedi dati di targa posti sugli adattatori di

rete AC/DC) corrisponda a quello della vostra rete

elettrica e che la spina degli adattatori di rete sia

compatibile con le prese di corrente del vostro

impianto elettrico.

- Collegare gli adattatori di rete AC/DC a prese di

alimentazione facilmente accessibili, ma fuori

dalla portata del bambino. Posizionare i cavi degli

adattatori AC/DC in modo tale da prevenire che il

lo possa essere calpestato, che possano rimane-

re impigliati oggetti posizionati sopra o accanto

ad essi, o che possano essere accessibili al bam-

bino e quindi costituire pericolo per lo stesso

(inciampo, strangolamento).

- Gli adattatori di rete AC/DC, l’unità bambino e

l’unità genitore potrebbero risultare caldi al tatto

durante il funzionamento. Questo è da conside-

rarsi normale.

- Scollegare sempre gli adattatori di rete AC/DC

dalla presa di corrente quando l’apparecchio non

è utilizzato.

- La sostituzione delle batterie ricaricabili deve es-

sere sempre eettuata solo da parte di un adulto

e con batterie ricaricabili aventi le stesse caratte-

ristiche di quelle indicate nel presente manuale

d’istruzione.

ATTENZIONE!

PER EVITARE IL RISCHIO DI SHOCK ELET-

TRICI, NON RIMUOVERE LA PROTEZIONE

O TENTARE DI APRIRE GLI ADATTATORI DI RETE.

NON BAGNARE GLI ADATTATORI DI RETE, L’UNITA’

BAMBINO E L’UNITA’ GENITORE, NON ESPORLI

ALL’UMIDITA’ E NON CERCARE DI APRIRLI. CIO’ PUO’

ESSERE FONTE DI PERICOLO OLTRE A RENDERE

NULLA LA GARANZIA.

1 CONFIGURAZIONE E CARATTERISTICHE

1.1 Unità Bambino

1. Alimentazione mediante adattatore di rete

switching 100-240V~ 50/60Hz /6V

500mA.

2. Tasto di accensione/spegnimento.

3. Indicazione luminosa di alimentazione e con-

nessione:

(a) Verde sso: collegamento con unità genitore

(b) Verde lampeggiante: assenza o perdita di colle-

gamento con l’unità genitore.

(c) OFF: unità bambino spenta.

4. Connettore di alimentazione unità bambino.

5. Microfono.

1.2 Unità genitore

1. Alimentazione mediante 2 batterie ricaricabili

NiMH 550 mAh (9) (in dotazione) dotate di

contatti di riconoscimento o tramite adatta-

tore di rete switching 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz /6V

500mA (1).

2. Tasto di accensione/spegnimento.

3. Tasti di regolazione volume (3a e 3b).

4. 3 LED luminosi di indicazione livello dei suoni

emessi dal bambino.

5. Indicazione luminosa di alimentazione, connes-

sione e stato batterie:

(a) Verde sso: collegamento con unità bambino.

(b) Verde lampeggiante: assenza o perdita di colle-

gamento con l’unità bambino.

(c) OFF: unità genitore spenta.

(d) Rosso sso: batterie ricaricabili quasi scariche.

(e) Rosso lampeggiante: ricarica delle batterie ri-

caricabili in corso tramite adattatore di rete (1).

(f) OFF: batterie ricaricabili cariche.

6. Altoparlante integrato per la riproduzione dei

suoni emessi dal bambino.

Esso assolve contemporaneamente anche le se-

guenti funzioni aggiuntive:

a) Funzione di segnalazione assenza o perdita di

collegamento tra unità bambino e genitore:

dopo circa 5 secondi da quando l’Indicazione

luminosa di alimentazione e connessione (5) ini-

zia a lampeggiare di verde si avverte un segnale

acustico ogni 2 secondi circa. Non appena si

ristabilisce il collegamento con l’unità bambino,

il segnale si disattiva e l’Indicazione luminosa di

alimentazione e connessione (5) si illumina di

verde sso.

b) Funzione di segnalazione batterie ricaricabili

quasi scariche: si avverte 1 segnale acustico ogni

2 secondi e l’Indicazione luminosa di alimenta-

zione, connessione e stato batterie ricaricabili

(5) diventa rossa ssa. All’avvio della ricarica del-

le batterie ricaricabili NiMH il segnale acustico si

disattiva e l’indicazione luminosa stato batterie

ricaricabili (5) inizia a lampeggiare di rosso no

al completamento della ricarica.

7. Pannello di chiusura comparto batterie ricarica-

bili NiMH.

8. Connettore di alimentazione e/o ricarica batterie

2. Descrizione caratteristiche

2.1 Unità bambino

2.1.1 Alimentazione:

- inserire lo spinotto dell’adattatore di rete (1)

nell’apposito connettore di alimentazione (4)

posto al di sotto dell’unità,

- inserire la spina dell’adattatore di rete in una presa

di corrente facilmente accessibile.

Avvertenze

- Ispezionare periodicamente gli adattatori di rete

(1), se il cavo di alimentazione o le parti in plasti-

ca presentassero segni di danneggiamento, non

usarli e rivolgersi a un tecnico specializzato.

- Non lasciare gli adattatori di rete collegati (1) alla

presa elettrica quando gli apparecchi non sono

in uso e/o non collegati agli adattatori di rete (1).

2.1.2 Modalità di uso - Accensione e Regola-

zione

L’unità bambino deve essere posizionata a circa

1 - 1,5 metri dal bambino, su una supercie piana

e stabile avendo cura di orientare il microfono (5)

verso il bambino.

Attenzione: il trasmettitore, l’adattatore di rete e il

suo cavo di alimentazione devono essere tenuti

fuori dalla portata del bambino.

- Tasto accensione /spegnimento unità bambino

(2).

Premendo questo tasto per circa 3 secondi, l’unità

bambino si accende. La pressione non dovrà esse-

re troppo prolungata altrimenti l’unità bambino

potrebbe non accendersi. Premendo nuovamente

il tasto (2) per circa 3 secondi, l’unità bambino si

spegne.

2.2 Unità genitore

2.2.1 Alimentazione:

ATTENZIONE. La ricarica delle batterie ricaricabili

deve essere eseguita solo mediante adattatore di

rete (1) fornito in dotazione e può essere eettuata

sia con unità genitore accesa sia con unità geni-

tore spenta.

Nel caso di alimentazione con adattatore di rete (1)

o di ricarica delle batterie ricaricabili NiMH:

- inserire lo spinotto dell’adattatore di rete (1)

nell’apposito connettore di alimentazione (8)

posto sul lato dell’unità.

- inserire la spina dell’adattatore di rete in una presa

di corrente facilmente accessibile.

Avvertenze

- Ispezionare periodicamente gli adattatori di rete

(1) se il cavo di alimentazione o le parti in plasti-

ca presentassero segni di danneggiamento, non

usarli e rivolgersi a un tecnico specializzato.

- Non lasciare gli adattatori di rete (1) collegati alla

presa elettrica quando gli apparecchi non sono

in uso e/o non collegati agli adattatori di rete (1).

2.2.2 Modalità di uso - Accensione e Regola-

zione

- Il tasto (2) è il tasto accensione/spegnimento.

Premendo questo tasto accensione /spegnimento

(2) per circa 3 secondi, l’unità genitore si accende.

La pressione non dovrà essere troppo prolungata

altrimenti l’unità genitore potrebbe non accen-

dersi.

Premendo il tasto (2) nuovamente per circa 3 se-

condi, l’unità genitore si spegne.

- Tasti regolazione volume dell’altoparlante + e -

(3a-3b).

Premendo una volta il tasto (3a) in corrispondenza

del simbolo “+”, il volume aumenta di un livello.

Premendo una volta il tasto (3b) in corrispondenza

del simbolo “ -”, il volume diminuisce di un livello.

L’unità prevede 10 livelli di regolazione volume. Il

livello di default è 5.

Ogni volta che il volume viene aumentato o

diminuito di un livello, si avverte un segnale acu-

stico. Quando il volume raggiunge il massimo o

il minimo livello, si avvertono 3 segnali acustici

consecutivi. Il dispositivo mantiene in memoria il

livello di volume selezionato nel precedente utiliz-

zo, anche dopo il suo spegnimento e consecutiva

riaccensione.

2.2.3 Indicazioni luminose e acustiche di fun-

zionamento

- L’ indicazione luminosa di alimentazione, con-

nessione e stato batterie (5) fornisce 6 diverse

informazioni:

- Indicazione di apparecchio acceso e corretto col-

legamento con l’unità bambino:

- l’indicazione luminosa (5) si illumina di verde sso.

- Indicazione di perdita o assenza di collegamento

con l’unità bambino durante il funzionamento:

- l’indicazione luminosa (5) si illumina di verde,

inizia a lampeggiare e dopo circa 5 secondi si

avverte un segnale acustico ogni 2 secondi circa.

- Non appena si ristabilisce il collegamento, il se-

gnale acustico si disattiva e l’indicazione lumino-

sa (5) si illumina di verde sso;

NOTA: all’accensione l’unità genitore eettua la

ricerca del canale di connessione con l’unità bam-

bino, pertanto l’indicazione luminosa (5) lampeg-

gerà di verde no a quando la connessione non

sarà stabilita.

- Indicazione di apparecchio spento:

l’indicazione luminosa (5) è spenta.

- Indicazione batterie ricaricabili (9) quasi scariche:

l’indicazione luminosa (5) si illumina di rosso sso,

e contemporaneamente si avverte un segnale

acustico ogni 2 secondi. Se si desidera continuare

ad utilizzare il dispositivo, si consiglia di eseguire

la ricarica delle batterie ricaricabili (9) altrimenti

il dispositivo smetterà di funzionare. Eseguire la

ricarica delle batterie ricaricabili (9) collegando

l’adattatore di rete (1) al connettore di alimentazio-

ne e ricarica (8) dell’unità genitore. All’avvio della

ricarica il segnale acustico si disattiva.

- Indicazione batterie ricaricabili (9) in ricarica:

all’avvio della ricarica l’indicazione luminosa (5) si

illumina di rosso e inizia a lampeggiare.

Lasciare caricare la batteria no allo spegnimento

dell’indicazione luminosa (5).

E’ possibile utilizzare l’unità genitore per monito-

rare i suoni emessi dal bambino anche durante

la ricarica della batteria ricaricabile, ma il tempo

necessario per ottenere la ricarica completa risul-

terà maggiore.

- Indicazione batteria ricaricabile carica:

l’indicazione luminosa (5) è spenta.

- 3 LED di indicazione livello dei suoni emessi dal

bambino (4):

si illuminano indicando 3 livelli di intensità del suo-

no captato dal microfono (5) dell’unità bambino.

Consentono al genitore di monitorare il suono

emesso dal bambino anche quando il volume

dell’altoparlante dell’unità genitore (6) viene di-

sattivato:

: si illumina il primo Led se i suoni emessi

dal bambino sono di intensità relativa-

mente bassa.

: si illuminano il primo e il secondo Led

se i suoni emessi dal bambino sono di

intensità media.

: si illuminano il primo, il secondo e il ter-

zo Led se i suoni emessi dal bambino

sono di intensità relativamente alta.

Attenzione!

Dopo l’accensione dell’unità genitore

vericare sempre lo stato di accensione

dell’unità bambino.

Dopo l’accensione delle unità vericare sempre

che la ricezione del segnale trasmesso sia eettiva-

mente possibile alla distanza e/o nelle zone da voi

previste. Si consiglia di eettuare, con l’aiuto di un

familiare, una prova di trasmissione dalla camera

dove è posizionata l’unità bambino spostandosi

contemporaneamente con l’unità genitore nelle

zone da voi previste per vericare la corretta rice-

zione del segnale trasmesso.

3. Installazione e sostituzione delle batterie

ricaricabili nell’unità genitore.

Avvertenze: queste operazioni devo-

no essere eettuate solo da parte di

un adulto.

Attenzione: RACCOMANDAZIONI

SULL’UTILIZZO DELLE BATTERIE.

- Utilizzare solo batterie ricaricabili NiMH per l’unità

genitore con codice 20256300100.

- Rimuovere sempre le batterie ricaricabili se sca-

riche e/o in caso si preveda di non utilizzare il

prodotto per un lungo periodo di tempo. Que-

sto per evitare che dalle batterie scariche possa

fuoriuscire il liquido contenuto, danneggiando

l’unità genitore e/o quanto ad essa vicino.

- Non cortocircuitare i poli delle batterie.

NOTA: se la durata della carica delle batterie ri-

caricabili in dotazione all’unità genitore si riduce

eccessivamente signica che sono esaurite e per-

tanto è necessario sostituirle (tale fatto è da consi-

derarsi normale in quanto le batterie ricaricabili nel

tempo si esauriscono).

- Le batterie ricaricabili in dotazione all’unità ge-

nitore devono essere ricaricate utilizzando solo il

relativo adattatore di rete (1) fornito in dotazione

(codice 20256300200).

- Non tentare di ricaricare batterie non ricaricabili,

potrebbero esplodere.

- Questo prodotto non è progettato per funzionare

con batterie al Litio.

ATTENZIONE: l’uso improprio

potrebbe generare condizioni di

pericolo.

- Non lasciare mai nell’unità genitore le batterie

ricaricabili scariche, provvedere immediatamente

alla ricarica (o eventuale sostituzione se esaurite)

in quanto potrebbero dare luogo a perdita di li-

quidi corrosivi e/o pericolosi.

- Nel caso le batterie dovessero generare delle

perdite di liquido, proteggersi adeguatamente

le mani e sostituire immediatamente le batterie,

avendo cura di pulire accuratamente il comparto

batterie e quanto altro raggiunto dal liquido. Al

termine delle operazioni lavarsi accuratamente

le mani. Non mischiare batterie di tipo e marca

diversa o batterie scariche con batterie nuove.

- Inserire le batterie ricaricabili NiMH 3x1.2V,

550mAh tipo AAA (incluse) nell’unità genitore

vericando sempre che la polarità di inserimento

corrisponda a quella indicata nel vano batterie.

- Rimuovere le batterie ricaricabili dal prodotto

prima del suo smaltimento.

- Non lasciare le batterie ricaricabili e/o eventuali

utensili utilizzati per la loro rimozione a portata

dei bambini.

- Non buttare le batterie ricaricabili nel fuoco o di-

sperderle nell’ambiente o nei riuti urbani.

- Smaltire le batterie esaurite operando la raccolta

dierenziata in conformità alle vigenti leggi.

- Rimuovere sempre le batterie in caso di non utiliz-

zo prolungato del prodotto.

3.1 Installazione delle batterie ricaricabili in

dotazione nell’unità genitore

All’atto dell’acquisto, le batterie ricaricabili (9)

dell’unità genitore sono contenute separatamente

nella confezione del prodotto.

Rimuovere con cura le batterie ricaricabili (9)

dall’imballaggio.

Rimuovere il pannello di chiusura comparto batte-

rie ricaricabili (7) appoggiando le dita in prossimità

della scanalatura superiore e tirando delicatamen-

te il pannello verso l’esterno (g.1). Inserire 2 bat-

terie ricaricabili NiMH 1.2V tipo AAA rispettando la

corretta polarità di inserimento indicata nel vano

batterie. Riposizionare il pannello di chiusura

comparto batterie ricaricabili (7) inserendo prima

i ganci inferiori del pannello nelle rispettive sedi

del vano batterie e spingendo delicatamente il

pannello verso il prodotto (g. 2).

3.2 Sostituzione delle batterie ricaricabili in

dotazione nell’unità genitore.

Se la durata della carica delle batterie ricaricabili si

riduce eccessivamente signica che sono esaurite

e pertanto è necessario sostituirle (tale fatto è da

considerarsi normale in quanto le batterie ricarica-

bili nel tempo si esauriscono).

Rimuovere il pannello di chiusura comparto bat-

terie ricaricabili (7) appoggiando le dita in prossi-

mità della scanalatura superiore e tirando delicata-

mente il pannello verso l’esterno (g.1). Rimuovere

le batterie ricaricabili (9) esaurite e sostituirle con

altre batterie ricaricabili identiche a quelle in do-

tazione al prodotto NiMH, 1.2V, 550mAh, tipo AAA

(codice 20256300100) da richiedere direttamente

ad Artsana S.p.A.) rispettando la corretta polarità

indicata nel vano batterie.

Riposizionare il pannello di chiusura comparto bat-

terie ricaricabili (7) inserendo prima i ganci inferiori

del pannello nelle rispettive sedi del vano batterie

e spingendo delicatamente il pannello verso il

prodotto (g. 2).

tecnologia digitale DECT.

- Range operativo in campo aperto senza ostacoli

di circa 300 metri*.

*La massima distanza operativa è di circa 300 metri

GENERAL WARNINGS

adapters do not contain any user-serviceable

parts. Contact skilled technical personnel or the

Artsana S.p.A. Customer Service in the event of

failure. Opening the above-mentioned devices

can cause electric shock.

- The Chicco Always With You Digital Audio Baby

Monitor should not be used as a medical monitor

and is not intended to replace the supervision of

children by adults; it is designed to provide a way

of supporting their surveillance. All other use is to

be considered improper.

- Place the child unit and parent unit out of the

reach of the child on a at, level surface

- Keep the child unit, parent unit, rechargeable

batteries and AC/DC mains adapters out of reach

of children (mains adapter cords may cause stran-

gulation).

- It is important to regularly check the proper

functioning of the child unit and the parent unit,

particularly before each use, checking that signal

reception is possible in the area and at a maxi-

mum distance of the intended use.

- The maximum operating distance is around 300

metres in an open space without obstacles (this

range could be reduced considerably indoors ac-

cording to the environmental situations, the lay-

out of walls and furniture, the presence of metal

structures, electromagnetic elds/disturbances

of internal or external origin, reinforced concrete

walls, when rooms are located on dierent oors

or because batteries are not fully charged etc.).

- Do not use the child unit, parent unit, recharge-

able batteries and adapters in a position exposed

to weather (rain, sun, etc.). If the product is used

outdoors, the parent unit must be powered by

the rechargeable batteries only: the mains adapt-

ers supplied with the product are not suitable for

outdoor use.

- To avoid the risk of overheating, keep the child

unit, parent unit, rechargeable batteries and

especially the AC/DC mains adapter away from

sources of heat, such as radiators, stoves, heaters,

and windows exposed to sunlight, etc.

- Never use (especially if connected to the mains

with the mains adapters) the two units close to

areas or situations where water is found, such as

bathtubs, washing machines, kitchen sinks or wet

surfaces. Do not immerse or wet. Do not use the

unit and adapters if they have fallen in water. In

this case, contact skilled technical personnel.

- Place the child unit, parent unit and AC/DC mains

adapters so as to allow adequate ventilation to

avoid the risk of component overheating.

- Do not use this product near uorescent lamps

(Neon) or other electrical appliances such as tel-

evisions, motors, personal computers, cordless

telephones, DECT cordless phones, etc. Doing so

could interfere with its operation.

- Only use the AC/DC mains adapters supplied

with the product or an identical type with the

same electrical characteristics. Use of other

adapters could damage the Baby unit and/or par-

ent unit and cause danger to the user.

- The adapter power cord cannot be replaced and,

therefore, in case of damage, do not continue to

use the mains adapter but replace it with an iden-

tical type adapter.

- Do not use a mains adapter dierent from the

one supplied with this Artsana S.p.A. product,

as doing so renders the product non-compliant

with technical standard specications established

by the relevant EC directives aecting product

safety and integrity. Contact the dealer or Artsana

S.p.A. to replace.

- Ensure that AC/DC mains adapter voltage (see

data plate located on the AC/DC mains adapters)

matches that of the mains electricity and that the

mains adapter plug is compatible with your elec-

trical system sockets.

- Connect the AC/DC mains adapters to easily ac-

cessible power sockets which are, however, out of

reach of children. Position AC/DC mains adapter

cords so as to prevent the cord from being

walked on, from getting caught in items placed

upon or against them, or from being accessible

to the child and therefore constituting a risk (trip-

ping, choking).

- The AC/DC mains adapters, child unit and the par-

ent unit may be become hot to the touch when

in use. This is normal.

- Always disconnect the AC/DC mains adapters

from the power socket when the product is not

in use.

- The rechargeable batteries must always be re-

placed by adults only and with other recharge-

able batteries having the same characteristics as

those indicated in these instructions.

6. Built-in loudspeaker for sound reproduction of

sounds emitted by the child.

This performs the following additional functions at

the same time:

a) Absence of or loss of link between child and par-

ent unit signal function: approx. 5 seconds after

the power and link indicator light (5) starts to ash

green, you will hear a beep every 2 seconds. As

soon as the link with the child unit is restored, the

signal switches o and the power and link indica-

tor light (5) will light up steady green.

b) Rechargeable batteries almost at signal func-

tion: You will hear 1 beep every 2 seconds and

the Power, link indicator and rechargeable bat-

tery status light (5) will change to steady red.

When the rechargeable NiMH batteries start

to charge, the beep is deactivated and the re-

chargeable battery status signal light (5) starts to

ash red until charging is completed.

2. Description of features

2.1 Child Unit

2.1.1 Power:

- insert the mains adapter jack (1) in the power

connector (4) under the unit.

- insert the mains adapter plug in an easily acces-

sible power socket.

Warnings

- Periodically inspect mains adapters (1). If the

power cord or plastic parts show signs of dam-

age, do not use them and contact a qualied

technician.

- Do not leave mains adapters (1) plugged into the

outlet when devices are not in use and/or not

connected to the mains adapters (1).

2.1.2 Modes of use - Switching on and Adjust-

ment.

The child unit must be placed at about

1 - 1.5 metres from the child, on a at, level surface

making sure to direct the microphone (5) toward

the child.

Warning: the transmitter, mains adapter and its

power cord must be kept out of reach of children.

- Child unit on/o switch (2).

Press this button for about 3 seconds and the child

unit will switch on. Do not press for too long, oth-

erwise the child unit may not switch on. Press this

button (2) again for about 3 seconds and the child

unit will switch o.

2.2 Parent unit

2.2.1 Power:

WARNING. The rechargeable batteries should only

be charged via the mains adapter (1) supplied

and can be performed both if the parent unit is

switched on and if the parent unit is o.

If the unit is powered by the mains adapter (1) or to

charge the rechargeable NiMH batteries:

- insert the mains adapter jack (1) in the power

connector (8) on the side of the unit.

- insert the mains adapter plug in an easily acces-

sible power socket.

Warnings

- Periodically inspect mains adapters (1). If the

power cord or plastic parts show signs of dam-

age, do not use them and contact a qualied

technician.

- Do not leave mains adapters (1) plugged into the

outlet when devices are not in use and/or not

connected to the mains adapters (1)

2.2.2 Modes of use - Switching on and Adjust-

ment

- The button (2) is the On/O button.

Press the On/O button (2) for about 3 seconds

and the parent unit will switch on. Do not press

for too long, otherwise the parent unit may not

switch on.

Press this button (2) again for about 3 seconds and

the parent unit will switch o.

- Loudspeaker volume adjustment buttons + and

- (3a-3b).

Press the button (3a) corresponding to the symbol

“+” once to increase volume by one level. Press the

button (3b) corresponding to the symbol “-” once

to decrease volume by one level. The unit oers 10

volume setting levels. The default level is 5.

A beep will be heard each time volume is in-

creased or decreased by a level. When volume

reaches maximum or minimum level, 3 consecu-

tive beeps will be heard. The device stores the

volume level selected during previous use in its

memory, even after it has been switched o and

switched back on.

2.2.3 Luminous and acoustic operating status

indicators

- The power, link and battery status indicator light

(5) provides 6 dierent pieces of information:

- Indication that the device is on and properly con-

nected to Baby unit:

- the indicator light (5) will light up steady green.

- Indication of loss or absence of link with the par-

ent unit during operation:

- the indicator light (5) starts to ash green and

after about 5 seconds you will hear a beep every

2 seconds.

- As soon as the link is restored, the beep will

switch o and the indicator light (5) will light up

steady green.

NB: when the parent unit switches on, it searches

for the channel to link with the child unit; therefore

the indicator light (5) will ash green until a link is

established.

- Indication of device o:

the indicator light (5) will switch o.

- Indication of rechargeable batteries (9) almost

at:

the indicator light (5) lights up steady red and, at

the same time, a beep every 2seconds is heard.

If you want to continue using the device, it is ad-

visable to charge the rechargeable batteries (9)

otherwise the device will stop working. Charge

the rechargeable batteries (9) by connecting the

mains adapter (1) to the parent unit power and

charging connector (8). When charging starts, the

beep will switch o.

- Indication of rechargeable batteries (9) charging:

at the start of charging the indicator light (5) will

light up red and begin to ash.

Leave the battery to charge until the indicator light

(5) switches o.

The parent unit can still be used to monitor sounds

made by the child while the rechargeable battery

is charging, but the time required to reach full

charge will be longer.

- Indication of rechargeable battery charged:

the indicator light (5) will switch o.

- 3 LED level indicator for sounds emitted by the

child (4):

They light up indicating 3 levels of sound intensity

detected by the child unit microphone (5).

They allow parents to monitor sounds emitted by

the child even when the parent unit (6) loudspeak-

er volume is switched o.

: the rst LED lights up if sounds emit-

ted by the child are of a relatively low

intensity.

: the rst and second LED light up if

sounds emitted by the child are of a

medium intensity.

: the rst, second and third LED light up

if sounds emitted by the child are of a

relatively high intensity.

Warning!

After switching the parent unit on, always

make sure that the child unit is on.

After switching on the unit, always check that

reception of the transmitted signal is possible

at the distance and/or in the areas within where

it has been set. It is advisable to carry out a test

with the help of a family member from the room

where the child unit has been placed, moving si-

multaneously with the parent unit in areas where

it has been set, to verify correct reception of the

transmitted signal.

3. Fitting and replacing the rechargeable bat-

teries in the parent unit.

Warnings: These steps must be done

only by an adult.

Warning: RECOMMENDATIONS FOR

BATTERY USE

- Use only rechargeable NiMH batteries for the

code 20256300100 parent unit.

- Always remove the rechargeable batteries when

at and/or when you will not be using the prod-

uct for an extended period of time. This prevents

at batteries from leaking the liquid they contain

and damaging the parent unit and/or objects

nearby.

- Do not short-circuit the battery poles.

NB: if the duration of rechargeable batteries sup-

plied with the parent unit is reduced excessively,

they have run out and therefore must be replaced

(this is to be considered normal because recharge-

able batteries run out over time).

- The rechargeable batteries supplied with the

parent unit must be recharged using the mains

adapter (1) supplied only (code 20256300200).

- Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable

batteries: they may explode.

- This product is not designed to work with lithium

batteries.

WARNING: improper use may create

hazardous conditions.

- Never leave at rechargeable batteries in the par-

ent unit. Recharge immediately (or replace if run

out) as they could leak corrosive and/or danger-

ous liquids.

- If the batteries should leak liquid, adequately pro-

tect hands and replace the batteries immediately,

taking care to thoroughly clean the battery com-

partment and anything else touched by the liq-

uid. Wash your hands thoroughly when nished.

Do not mix batteries of dierent brands or types

and at batteries with new ones.

- Insert the 3x1.2 V, NiMh, 550 mAh, AAA recharge-

able batteries (included) in the parent unit, mak-

ing sure that the insertion polarity is as indicated

in the battery compartment.

- Remove rechargeable batteries from the product

before disposing of it.

- Do not leave rechargeable batteries and/or any

tools for their removal within the reach of chil-

dren.

- Do not dispose of rechargeable batteries in re

or throw them away carelessly or in the house-

hold waste.

- Recycle used batteries in accordance with ap-

plicable laws.

- In case of prolonged non-use of the product, al-

ways remove the batteries.

3.1 Fitting the rechargeable batteries sup-

plied in the parent unit.

Upon purchase, the rechargeable batteries (9) in

the parent unit are kept separately in the product

packaging.

Carefully remove the rechargeable batteries (9)

from their packaging.

Remove the battery compartment closing panel

(7), placing your nger near the top groove and

gently pulling the panel outward (g.1). Insert two

1.2 V rechargeable NiMH batteries, respecting the

proper insertion polarity as indicated in the battery

compartment. Reposition the rechargeable bat-

tery compartment closing panel (7), rst inserting

the lower panel hooks in their battery compart-

ment housing and gently pushing the panel to-

ward the product (g.2).

3.2 Replacing the rechargeable batteries sup-

plied in the parent unit.

If the duration of the rechargeable batteries sup-

plied with the parent unit is reduced excessively,

they have run out and therefore must be replaced

(this is to be considered normal because recharge-

able batteries run out over time).

Remove the rechargeable battery compartment

closing panel (7), placing your nger near the

top groove and gently pulling the panel outward

(g.1). Remove the rechargeable batteries (9) that

have run out and replace with other recharge-

able batteries that are identical to those supplied

with the product: NiMh 1.2V, 550 mAh (code

20256300100 to be requested directly from Art-

sana S.p.A.) respecting the proper insertion polarity

as indicated in the battery compartment.

Reposition the rechargeable battery compartment

closing panel (7), rst inserting the lower panel

hooks in their battery compartment housing and

gently pushing the panel toward the product

(g.2).

AVERTISSEMENTS GÉNÉRAUX

• Les éléments de l’emballage (sachets en plas-

tique, boîtes en carton, etc.) ne doivent pas être

laissés à la portée des enfants car ils constituent

une source potentielle de danger.

• Avant d’utiliser l’appareil, contrôler que le produit

et tous ses composants ne sont pas endomma-

gés. Dans le cas contraire, ne pas utiliser l’appa-

reil mais s’adresser au personnel qualié ou au

revendeur.

- Ne jamais essayer de réparer le produit soi-même,

mais contacter le Service Client (Customer Ser-

vice) d'Artsana S.p.A.

• Ne pas ouvrir l’appareil. L’unité enfant, l'unité

parent, les piles rechargeables et les adaptateurs

secteur ne contiennent pas de pièces utilisables

par l'utilisateur. En cas de panne, s’adresser au per-

sonnel compétent ou contacter le Service Client

(Customer Service) d’Artsana S.p.A. L'ouverture

des dispositifs susmentionnés peut être respon-

sable d'électrocution.

• L’écoute-bébé numérique Always With You de

Chicco ne doit pas être utilisé en tant que moni-

teur médical et ne doit pas remplacer la supervi-

sion des enfants de la part des adultes puisqu’il

est destiné à être utilisé uniquement comme un

support à leur surveillance. Toute autre utilisation

doit être considérée comme étant impropre.

• Placer l’unité enfant et l’unité parent hors de la

portée de l’enfant, sur une surface plane et stable.

• Conserver l’unité enfant, l’unité parent, les piles

rechargeables et les adaptateurs secteur AC/DC

hors de la portée des enfants (le câble des adap-

tateurs pourrait constituer un danger d’étrangle-

ment).

• Il est essentiel de contrôler régulièrement le bon

fonctionnement de l’unité enfant et de l’unité

parent, notamment avant chaque utilisation, en

vériant que la réception du signal est eective-

ment possible dans la zone et à la distance maxi-

male d’utilisation prévue.

• La distance opérationnelle maximale est d’envi-

ron 300 mètres dans un champ ouvert sans

obstacles (la portée peut cependant être consi-

dérablement réduite à l’intérieur des habitations

selon des situations ambiantes particulières, la

disposition des murs et de l’ameublement dans

l’habitation et la présence de structures métal-

liques, dérangements/ champs électromagné-

tiques d’origine externe et interne, de murs en

béton armé ou entre les pièces disposées sur des

étages diérents ou à cause de piles qui ne sont

pas complètement chargées, etc.)

- Ne pas utiliser l'unité enfant, l'unité parent, les

piles rechargeables et les adaptateurs secteur en

les exposant aux agents climatiques (pluie, soleil,

etc...). Si le produit est utilisé à l'extérieur, l'unité

parent ne doit fonctionner qu'au moyen des piles

rechargeables incluses : les adaptateurs secteur

fournis avec le produit ne sont pas adaptés à une

utilisation à l’extérieur.

- Pour éviter le risque de surchaue, tenir l'unité

enfant, l'unité parent, les piles rechargeables et

surtout les adaptateurs secteur AC/DC éloignés

de sources de chaleur comme, par exemple,

des radiateurs, électriques ou autres, chaudières,

fours, fenêtres exposées aux rayons du soleil, etc...

• Ne jamais utiliser (notamment en cas de branche-

ment au réseau électrique grâce aux adaptateurs

secteur) les deux unités près de zones ou de

situations comprenant de l’eau, comme les bai-

gnoires, les lave-linge, les éviers de cuisine ou sur

des surfaces mouillées. Ne pas les plonger dans

l’eau ni les mouiller. Ne pas utiliser les unités ni les

adaptateurs s’ils sont tombés dans l’eau, dans ce

cas s’adresser à du personnel compétent.

- Placer l'unité enfant, l'unité parent et les adap-

tateurs secteur AC/DC de sorte à permettre une

ventilation appropriée, permettant de proscrire le

risque de surchaue des composants.

• Ne pas utiliser ce produit près de lampes uores-

centes (Néon) ou d’autres appareils électriques

comme les téléviseurs, les moteurs, les ordina-

teurs, les téléphones sans l, les téléphones sans

l DECT etc. qui pourraient interférer avec son

fonctionnement.

• Utiliser uniquement les adaptateurs secteur AC/

DC fournis avec le produit ou de type identique,

possédant les mêmes caractéristiques élec-

triques. L’utilisation d’autres adaptateurs pourrait

endommager l’unité enfant et/ou l’unité parent

et être une cause de danger pour l’utilisateur.

• Le remplacement des câbles d’alimentation de

l’adaptateur secteur n’est pas possible. Donc, en

cas d’endommagement, l’adaptateur secteur ne

doit plus être utilisé et il faut le remplacer par un

adaptateur de type identique.

- Attention, ne pas utiliser un adaptateur secteur

d’un autre type que celui qui est fourni avec le

produit par Artsana S.p.A. car ceci rendrait le pro-

duit non conforme aux normes techniques spé-

ciques établies par les directives CE applicables,

portant ainsi préjudice à la sécurité et à l’intégrité

du produit. En cas de remplacement, s’adresser

au revendeur ou à Artsana S.p.A.

• S’assurer que le voltage des adaptateurs secteur

AC/DC (voir les données d’identication situées

sur les adaptateurs secteur AC/DC) correspond

à celui de votre réseau électrique et que la che

des adaptateurs secteur est compatible avec les

prises de courant de votre installation électrique.

• Brancher les adaptateurs secteur AC/DC à des

prises d’alimentation facilement accessibles

mais hors de la portée de l’enfant. Positionner les

câbles des adaptateurs AC/DC de façon à empê-

cher que le câble ne soit piétiné, que des objets

placés au-dessus ou à côté ne s’enchevêtrent, ou

qu’ils ne soient à la portée de l’enfant constituant

par conséquent un danger pour ce dernier (tré-

buchement, étrangement).

- Les adaptateurs secteur AC/DC, l'unité enfant et

l'unité parent peuvent résulter chauds au tou-

cher lorsqu'ils sont en fonction. Ceci est tout à

fait normal.

• Toujours débrancher les adaptateurs secteur AC/

DC de la prise du courant quand l’appareil n’est

pas utilisé.

- Le remplacement des piles rechargeables doit

toujours être eectué uniquement par un adulte

et les nouvelles piles utilisées doivent présenter

les mêmes caractéristiques que celles indiquées

dans ce mode d'emploi.

6. Haut-parleur intégré pour la reproduction des

sons émis par l’enfant.

Celui-ci recouvre simultanément les fonctions sup-

plémentaires suivantes:

a) Fonction de signalisation de l'absence ou perte

de connexion entre l’unité enfant et l’unité pa-

rent: environ 5secondes après que l’indication

lumineuse d’alimentation et de connexion (5)

commence à clignoter en vert, un signal acous-

tique est émis toutes les 2 secondes. Dès que

la connexion avec l’appareil enfant est rétablie,

le signal se désactive et l’indication lumineuse

d’alimentation et de connexion (5) s’éclaire

d’une lumière verte xe.

b) Fonction d'indication de piles rechargeables

presque déchargées : un signal acoustique

est émis toutes les 2 secondes et l'indication

lumineuse d'alimentation, de connexion et du

niveau de charge des piles rechargeables (5)

s'éclaire d'une lumière rouge xe. Lorsque les

piles rechargeables NiMH sont mises à rechar-

ger, le signal acoustique se désactive et l'indica-

tion lumineuse du niveau de charge des piles

rechargeables (5) commence à clignoter de

couleur rouge et reste ainsi jusqu'à leur rechar-

gement complet.

2. Description des caractéristiques

2.1 Unité enfant

2.1.1 Alimentation:

- insérer la broche de l’adaptateur secteur (1) dans

le connecteur d’alimentation (4) prévu à cet eet

situé sur le côté de l’appareil,

- insérer la che de l’adaptateur secteur dans une

prise de courant facilement accessible.

Avertissements

- Inspecter périodiquement les adaptateurs sec-

teur (1). Si le câble d’alimentation ou les parties

en plastique présentent des risques d’endom-

magement, ne pas les utiliser et s’adresser à un

technicien spécialisé.

- Ne pas laisser les adaptateurs secteur (1) bran-

chés à la prise électrique quand les appareils ne

sont pas utilisés et/ou ne sont pas connectés aux

adaptateurs secteur (1).

2.1.2 Modalités d’utilisation – Allumage et

Réglage

L’unité enfant doit être placée à environ

1 - 1,5 mètre de l'enfant, sur une surface plane et

stable, en prenant soin d'orienter le microphone

(5) vers l'enfant.

Attention : l’émetteur, l’adaptateur secteur et son

câble d’alimentation doivent être conservés hors

de la portée de l’enfant.

- Touche allumage / arrêt de l’unité parent (2).

En appuyant sur cette touche pendant environ 3

secondes, l’unité enfant s’allume. La pression ne

doit pas être trop prolongée, sinon l’unité enfant

risque de ne pas s’allumer. En appuyant de nou-

veau sur la touche (2) pendant environ 3 secondes,

l’unité enfant s’éteint.

2.2 Unité parent

2.2.1 Alimentation:

ATTENTION. Le rechargement des piles rechar-

geables doit être uniquement eectué à l’aide de

l’adaptateur secteur (1) fourni et peut être réalisé

avec l’unité parent allumée ou éteinte.

En cas d’alimentation avec adaptateur secteur

(1) ou de rechargement des piles rechargeables

NiMH :

- insérer la broche de l’adaptateur secteur (1) dans

le connecteur d’alimentation (8) prévu à cet eet

situé sur le côté de l’unité.

- insérer la che de l’adaptateur secteur dans une

prise de courant facilement accessible.

Avertissements

- Inspecter périodiquement les adaptateurs sec-

teur (1), si le câble d’alimentation ou les parties

en plastique présentent des signes d’endom-

magement, ne pas les utiliser et s’adresser à un

technicien spécialisé.

- Ne pas laisser les adaptateurs secteur (1) branchés

à la prise électrique quand les unités ne sont pas

utilisées et/ou ne sont pas connectées aux adap-

tateurs secteur (1).

2.2.2 Modalités d’utilisation – Allumage et

réglage

- La touche (2) correspond au bouton d'allumage/

arrêt.

En appuyant sur cette touche d'allumage/arrêt

(2) pendant environ 3 secondes, l’unité parent

s’allume. La pression ne doit pas être trop prolon-

gée, sinon l’unité parent risque de ne pas s’allumer.

En appuyant de nouveau sur la touche (2) pendant

environ 3 secondes, l’unité parent s’éteint.

- Touches de réglage du volume du haut-parleur

+ et - (3a-3b).

En appuyant une fois sur la touche « + » (3a), le

volume augmente d’un niveau. En appuyant une

fois sur la touche «- » (3b), le volume diminue d’un

niveau. L’appareil prévoit 10 niveaux de réglage

du volume. Le volume est réglé par défaut au

niveau 5.

A chaque fois que le volume est augmenté ou di-

minué d’un niveau, un signal acoustique est émis.
