Please note
Ì This SFP DSL module allows you to directly connect your appliance
to a VDSL2 line without using a separate modem
Ì It supports all VDSL2 standards defined in ITU –T G.993.2, G.994.1,
G.997.1,and the VDSL2 profiles 8a, 8b, 8c, 8d, 12a, 12b, 17a.
Ì The SFP DSL module is only supported on the following appliances:
SG/XG 105/105w/115/115w/125/125w/135/135w rev.3
On SG/XG 105(w)/115(w) models the SFP port is shared with RJ45
Ethernet Port E3/Port 4 and takes precedence. Hence this RJ45
port can no longer be used when using the SFP DSL module.

Mounting the SFP DSL module
1. Insert the SFP DSL module into
the SFP port of your appliance
2. Connect the SFP DSL module to
the DSL wall plug or splitter by
using a phone cable (RJ11)
3. The SFP DSL module is trying to
connect to the ISP (Status LED starts
blinking -> see LED status table)
4. After the connection to the
ISP has been successfully
established the Status LED will
turn into constant green
Caution! During operation the
module could get very hot.

Configure your DSL connection on your Firewall
Ì Use your browser to connect to the WebAdmin GUI of your appliance.
Ì On Sophos UTM Firewall:
Go to the section 'Interfaces & Routing>>Interfaces'
On 105/115 models edit the Interface eth3 (on 125/135 models
edit the interface eth8) and change the Type to 'DSL (PPPoE)'
Ì On XG Firewall:
Go to the section 'Network>>Interfaces'
On 105/115 models edit Interface 4 (on 125/135 models
edit Interface 9) and change IP assignment to 'DSL'
Ì Activate the DSL service you want to use and enter Username/PW
Ì Please note: you might be required to enter a VLAN
ID/tag provided by your ISP as well
Ì Save your changes

Ì Dieses SFP DSL-Modul ermöglicht eine direkte Verbindung Ihrer Appliance

Ì Das SFP DSL-Modul wird nur von folgenden Modellen unterstützt:
SG/XG 105/105w/115/115w/125/125w/135/135w rev.3
Bei SG/XG 105(w)/115(w) wird der SFP-Port mit RJ45 Ethernet-Port
E3/Port4 geteilt und hat Vorrang. Daher kann der RJ45-Port nicht
mehr genutzt werden sobald das SFP DSL-Modul eingesetzt wird.

Einsetzen des SFP DSL-Moduls
1. Setzen sie das SFP DSL-Modul in
den SFP-Port ihrer Appliance ein
2. Verbinden Sie das SFP DSL-Modul
mit Ihrem DSL-Anschluss (Wanddose
oder Splitter) unter Verwendung
eines Standard-Telefonkabels(RJ11)
3. Das SFP DSL-Modul versucht
nun eine Verbindung zum ISP
aufzubauen (Status LED blinkt
schnell -> siehe LED Status-Tabelle)
4. Nach erfolgreicher Verbindung
mit dem ISP leuchtet die
Status-LED konstant grün
Achtung! Während des Betriebs
kann das Modul sehr heiß werden.

DSL-Verbindung auf der Firewall konfigurieren
Ì Stellen Sie über den Browser eine Verbindung mit
der WebAdmin-Benutzeroberfläche her.
Ì Auf einer Sophos UTM Firewall:
Gehen Sie zur Section „Interfaces & Routing>>Interfaces“
Bei Modellen 105/115 editieren Sie Interface eth3 (bei Modellen
125/135 Interface eth8) und ändern Sie den Type in „DSL (PPPoE)“

Gehen Sie zur Section Network>>Interfaces
Bei Modellen 105/115 editieren Sie Interface 4 (bei Modellen

wollen und geben Sie Username/PW ein
