WARNING: This Quick Start Guide is not

intended to be a substitute for the rest of

the user manual, and you should read and

understand the warnings and instructions

in the user manual before using this

Brief Guide to Brewing on the Breville

Bijou Espresso Machine:

1. Clean & prime the espresso machine

before brewing coffee for the rst time.

2. Fill the water tank to the “MAX” marking

with clean, ltered water.

3. Turn the Breville Bijou Espresso ON by

pressing the power button (1) on the

front of the unit, the brew button (2) will

automatically illuminate.

NOTE: The brew button indicator light

will pulse while the unit heats up and

turn solid when the Bijou Espresso

machine is ready to use.

4. Place desired coffee grounds into the

Portalter and insert into the Bijou

Espresso machine.

5. Place a suitable cup on the drip tray.

6. Turn the Control dial (4) to the “Brew”

position and espresso will begin to

dispense.

7. When the desired amount of espresso

has been dispensed turn the Control

dial back to the ‘Standby’ position.

8. Enjoy!

USER MANUAL GETTING STARTED

1. Unpack your Breville Bijou Espresso

machine and remove plastic bags,

cartons and any tape on the unit.

2. Position the Breville Bijou Espresso

machine on a dry, stable, horizontal

counter top.

IMPORTANT: KEEP PLASTIC BAGS

AWAY FROM CHILDREN.

CLEAN & PRIME BEFORE USE

Just follow these simple steps:

Do not immerse main body of the

appliance, power cord and plug in water or

any other liquid.

1. Wash all of the removable parts in

warm water with a mild liquid soap.

2. Fill the water tank to the “MAX” marking

with clean, ltered water.

3. Turn the Breville Bijou Espresso ON by

pressing the power button (1) on the

front of the unit, the brew button (2) will

automatically illuminate.

NOTE: The brew button indicator light

will pulse while the unit heats up and

turn solid when the Bijou Espresso

machine is ready to use.

4. Place a lter into the Portalter and

insert the portalter into position, and

place a large jug or bowl to capture

400ml approx or bowl into position on

the drip tray - you can remove the drip

tray to gain more height if necessary.

5. Turn the Control dial to the ‘’Brew’’

position.

6. Leave the unit to run, passing water

through the portalter. The machine will

turn off automatically after 60 seconds.

NOTE: Be careful to ensure that the

jug or bowl will not overow with water,

if this looks likely turn off the dial

manually.

8. When the unit has nished dispensing,

turn the control dial to the ‘Standby’

position.

9. Discard the water. Your Breville® Bijou

Espresso machine is ready to use!

HOW TO MAKE YOUR FIRST

SHOT(S) OF ESPRESSO

1. Fill the water tank to the “MAX” marking

with clean, ltered water.

2. Turn the Bijou Espresso machine ON

by pressing the power button on the

front of the unit.

3. NOTE: The brew button indicator light

will pulse while the unit heats up and

turn solid when the Bijou Espresso

machine is ready to use.

4. Select lter size: 1-shot lter or 2-shot

lter. Make sure the bump on the

lter is aligned with the notch on the

espresso portalter and place lter into

the espresso portalter.

5. Add espresso grounds into the lter.

a. Using the tamper, evenly tamp (press)

espresso grounds. Then, wipe the

edges to clear any excess grinds.

6. Insert the espresso portalter into the

unit:

a. Keep the espresso portalter handle

at.

b. Insert the espresso portalter head

at a 45° angle (left).

c. Turn the espresso portalter handle

to a 90° angle. The espresso

portalter should be in a centered

position.

7. Place cup underneath the espresso

portalter.

8. Turn the Control dial to the “brew”

position the unit will begin to dispense

automatically. The brew status indicator

will illuminate for the duration of the

dispense cycle.

9. When the desired amount of coffee has

been dispensed turn the Control dial to

the ‘Standby’ position.

NOTE: coffee will continue to ow for

a short time after the Control dial has

been moved to the ‘Standby’ position,

as coffee drains from the portalter.

10. Enjoy!

HOW TO STEAM MILK

1. Fill the water tank to the “MAX” marking

with clean, ltered water.

2. Fill a milk pitcher or cup about ⅓ to ½

full with cold milk.

NOTE: Any type of milk can be used –

soy, rice, almond, coconut, etc. – but

full fat dairy milk creates the best froth.

3. Press the steam button.

NOTE: The ready indicator light will

pulse while the water is heating up.

Once the unit reaches the correct

temperature, the ready indicator light

will turn solid.

4. Insert the milk frothing wand tip just

below the surface of the milk.

5. Turn the Control dial to steam, and

steam will be emitted from the steam

wand. Steam your milk until it reaches

the desired texture and temperature.

NOTE: Steaming milk makes a hissing

noise. Take care near hot steam to

avoid burns and scalds.

6. When nished, turn the Control dial to the

‘Standby’ position. Then, remove the milk

frothing wand from the milk pitcher or cup.

NOTE: After steaming milk, the unit

must be allowed to cool for a few

minutes, or the cool down cycle

operation performed as it will be too hot

to make coffee.

It is recommended when making

multiple drinks with steamed milk, you

should make the espresso shots rst,

before steaming the milk.

7. Remember to clean the milk frothing

wand after every use. For instructions

on how to do so, please refer to the

cleaning section.

8. Enjoy!

Helpful Tips for Steaming Milk:

1. Insert the milk frothing wand

tip just below the surface of the

milk.

2. Position the milk frothing wand

and milk pitcher or cup at an

angle that allows the milk to

move in a whirlpool pattern.

3. As the milk level rises, lower the

milk pitcher or cup to keep the

milk frothing wand tip just below

the surface.

4. When the desired texture is

achieved, immerse the milk

frothing wand half way.

Cool Down Cycle

After steaming, the unit will be too hot to

immediately make coffee again. The brew

button indicator light will flash rapidly when

pressed, and the unit will not dispense

if the Control dial is moved to the brew

position. The unit can be left to cool

naturally for a few minutes, or the following

procedure performed.

1. Ensure Control dial is in the off position

2. Place an empty milk pitcher or mug on

the worktop, ensuring the end of the

steam wand is well inside.

3. Press the brew button, the indicator

light will be ashing to indicate the unit

is over temperature

4. Move the Control dial clockwise to the

steam position, Steam will begin to

dispense.

5. The unit automatically starts its cool

down cycle, the pump will operate in

pulses passing shots of steam then

water through the steam wand. the

full cycle will last approximately 40

seconds

6. Once the unit has cooled sufciently

the brew button indicator light will

illuminate solidly, and water will stop

being dispensed from the steam wand.

7. Turn the Control dial to the ‘Standby’

position.

8. The machine is now ready to make

your next espresso.

Hot Water Dispenser

Your Breville Bijou Espresso machine can

dispense hot water from the steam wand

for use when making long coffee drinks.

1. Place you cup with your espresso shot

in on the worktop and place the end of

the steam wand inside.

2. Press the Brew button, and ensure the

indicator light is solid and the unit is

ready to use.

3. Turn the Control dial clockwise to the

steam/hot water position. Hot water will

be dispensed from the steam wand.

4. When the desired amount of hot water

has been dispensed turn the dial to the

‘Standby’ position.

ROUTINE CLEANING

Make sure your Breville Bijou Espresso

machine is unplugged and has cooled

completely before cleaning. We

recommend hand washing all parts to help

preserve their appearance. Do not immerse

the main body of the appliance, power cord

and plug in water or any other liquid.

Espresso

1. When you have completed your

espresso, remove the portalter ready

to discard the espresso grounds. Flip

the ‘lter retainer clip’ located in the

handle to hook over the edge of the

lter, holding it in place as you discard

espresso grounds. This helps keep

the lter secured and in place whilst

knocking out the ‘cake’ of espresso

grounds.

2. Remove the lter from the espresso

portalter by twisting the lter until the

bump is aligned with the notch. Wash

the lter and the espresso portalter

with water and mild liquid soap.

3. Place the lter back into the espresso

portalter and insert the espresso

portalter back into the Breville Bijou

Espresso machine. Follow the same

steps for brewing espresso, but with no

espresso in the lter. Discard the water

in the cup.

4. Remove the espresso portalter from

the unit and dry thoroughly.

NOTE: The espresso portalter is NOT

dishwasher safe.

Milk Frothing Wand

1. With a damp cloth, wipe down the

metal on the milk frothing wand.

The end of the steam wand can be

unscrewed for cleaning if required.

2. Fill water tank and place a jug under

the milk frothing wand.

3. Press the steam button, wait for the

indicator light to illuminate solidly

then perform the ‘cool down cycle’ as

described elsewhere in the manual.

The rubber steam wand cover can be

removed for cleaning if required. Simply

unscrew the end of the steam wand,

and slide the rubber cover off the wand.

It may be advantageous to use water

as a lubricant to help the rubber cover

slide along the length of the shaft.

Emptying the Drip Tray

1. When the drip tray becomes full,

carefully slide the drip tray out from

the Breville Bijou Espresso machine,

remove the drip tray cover, and discard

the water.

2. Place the drip tray cover back on the

drip tray and slide it into the unit.

DESCALING

After continued use, your Breville Bijou

Espresso machine may develop a build-up

of mineral deposits, and therefore require

descaling.

We recommend descaling your unit every

4-6 months, although this period will

depend on the hardness of water and

frequency of use.

IMPORTANT: If the descaling process is

not completed or stopped part way through

any of the descaling steps, then you will

need to start the descaling process again

from the beginning.

Descaling:

1. In an empty water tank, add 2.5

tablespoons of white vinegar. Add 1.5L

of water to the water tank. Allow the

solution to mix thoroughly.

2. Place the water tank into position.

3. Insert either lter into the espresso

portalter and insert into the Breville

Bijou Espresso machine, without coffee

in it.

4. Place a large jug or bowl on the drip

tray cover.

5. Turn ON the unit and press the brew

button. Wait for the button indicator

light to illuminate solidly.

6. Turn the control dial to the “brew”

position.

7. Water will be dispensed continuously

for 60 seconds, the unit will then

automatically stop dispensing.

8. Turn the control dial back to the

‘Standby’ position, discard the water.

9. Place a large jug or bowl on the drip

tray and insert steam wand.

10. Ensure the brew button has been

pressed and is illuminating solidly.

11. Move the control dial clockwise to the

steam position.

12. Water will dispense continuously for

60 seconds, the unit will then stop

dispensing.

13. Turn the control dial back to the

‘standby’ position, discard the water.

14. Rinse the water tank, and espresso

portalter assembly with warm water

and mild liquid soap.

15. Rell water tank to Max with clean

water and repeat from step 2.

GUIDE DE DÉMARRAGE RAPIDE

Guide rapide pour apprendre à utiliser la

machine à expresso Breville Bijou Barista :

1. Nettoyez et amorcez la machine à expresso

avant de préparer un café pour la première

fois.

2. Remplissez le réservoir à eau jusqu’à

l’indicateur « MAX » avec de l’eau propre et

ltrée.

3. ALLUMEZ la machine à expresso Breville Bijou

Barista en appuyant sur le bouton MARCHE /

ARRÊT (1) situé à l’avant, le bouton Extraction

(2) s’allumera automatiquement.

À NOTER : Le voyant du bouton d’extraction

clignote pendant le préchauffage et reste

allumé lorsque la machine à expresso Breville

Bijou Barista est prête à être utilisée.

4. Placez le café moulu de votre choix dans le

porte-ltre et insérez-le dans la machine à

expresso Breville Bijou Barista.

5. Placez une tasse de taille adaptée sur le

ramasse-gouttes.

6. Tournez la molette (4) sur la position

« Extraction » et l’expresso commencera à

couler.

7. Lorsque vous atteignez la quantité souhaitée,

ramenez la molette sur la position « Veille ».

8. Et voilà !

GUIDE D’UTILISATION

COMMENCER

1. Déballez votre machine à expresso Breville

Bijou Barista et retirez les sacs en plastique,

les cartons et tout ruban adhésif sur

l’appareil.

2. Placez la machine à expresso Breville Bijou

Barista sur un plan de travail sec, stable et

plat.

NETTOYEZ ET AMORCEZ AVANT

UTILISATION

Suivez ces étapes simples :

Ne plongez pas l’appareil, le cordon

d’alimentation et la prise dans de l’eau ou tout

autre liquide.

1. Lavez toutes les parties amovibles à l’eau

chaude et au savon doux liquide.

2. Remplissez le réservoir à eau jusqu’à

4. Placez un ltre dans le porte-ltre et insérez

ce dernier dans la machine, puis placez

un bol ou un pot d’environ 400 ml sur le

ramasse-gouttes ; vous pouvez retirer

le ramasse-gouttes an d’obtenir plus

d’espace.

5. Tournez la molette en position

« Extraction ».

6. Laissez l’appareil fonctionner et faire passer

de l’eau à travers le porte-ltre. La machine

s’arrêtera automatiquement après 60

secondes.

À NOTER : Attention à ce que le bol ou le

pot ne déborde pas ; arrêtez la machine

manuellement le cas échéant.

8. Lorsque le café a ni de couler, tournez la

molette en position « Veille ».

9. Jetez l’eau. Votre machine à expresso

COMMENT FAIRE VOS PREMIERS

EXPRESSOS

1. Remplissez le réservoir à eau jusqu’à

4. Choisissez la taille du ltre : simple ou double.

Assurez-vous que la bosse du ltre est alignée

avec l’encoche du porte-ltre à expresso et

placez le ltre dans le porte-ltre à expresso.

5. Mettez du café moulu dans le ltre.

a. Tasser la mouture d’expresso

uniformément. Puis essuyez

l’excès de café sur les bords.

6. Insérez le porte-ltre dans l’appareil :

a. La poignée du porte-ltre doivent rester

horizontale.

b. Insérez la tête du porte-ltre à 45º

(gauche).

c. Tournez la poignée du porte-ltre à 90º.

Le porte-ltre à expresso devrait être

centré.

7. Placez une tasse sous le porte-ltre.

8. Tournez la molette dans la position

« Extraction » et le café coulera

automatiquement. L’indicateur d’extraction

sera allumé pendant l’écoulement du café.

9. Lorsque vous atteignez la quantité

souhaitée, tournez la molette sur la position

« Veille ».

À NOTER : le café continuera à couler

durant un court laps de temps après avoir

placé la molette sur la position « Veille »,

pendant que porte-ltre se vide du café

restant.

10. Et voilà !

COMMENT FAIRE MOUSSER DU

LAIT

1. Remplissez le réservoir à eau jusqu’à

l’indicateur « MAX » avec de l’eau propre et

ltrée.

2. Remplissez à moitié un pichet à lait ou une

tasse de lait froid.

À NOTER : Vous pouvez utiliser tous les

types de lait, soja, riz, amande, noix de

coco, etc, mais le lait de vache entier donne

la meilleure mousse.

3. Appuyez sur le bouton Vapeur.

À NOTER : Le voyant indicateur clignotera

pendant le préchauffage de l’eau. Une fois

la température correcte atteinte, le voyant

restera allumé.

4. Insérez l’embout de la buse à vapeur juste

sous la surface du lait.

5. Tournez la molette dans la position Vapeur,

et la buse à vapeur fonctionnera. Faites

mousser votre lait jusqu’à obtenir la

consistance et la température souhaitées.

À NOTER : Ce processus peut produire un

sifement. Faites attention de ne pas vous

brûler ou vous ébouillanter avec la vapeur.

6. Une fois la mousse de lait faite, tournez la

molette en position « Veille ». Puis retirer

l’embout de la buse à vapeur du pichet ou de

la tasse.

À NOTER : Après avoir fait de la mousse de

lait, l’appareil doit refroidir pendant quelques

minutes, ou le cycle de refroidissement doit

être exécuté, car il sera trop chaud pour

faire du café.

Lors de la préparation de plusieurs boissons

avec mousse de lait, il est recommandé de

préparer d’abord les expressos avant de

faire chauffer le lait.

8. Et voilà !

Conseils utiles pour faire de la mousse

de lait :

1. Insérez l’embout de la buse à

vapeur juste sous la surface du lait.

2. Placez l’embout de la buse à vapeur

et le pichet à lait dans une position

qui permet au lait de créer un

tourbillon.

3. Lorsque le niveau du lait monte,

abaissez le pichet ou la tasse pour

conserver l’embout de la buse à

vapeur juste sous la surface.

4. Lorsque vous avez obtenu la texture

désirée, plongez la buse à vapeur à

moitié dans le lait.

Cycle de refroidissement

L’appareil doit refroidir après l’utilisation de

la fonction Vapeur avant de pouvoir faire un

nouveau café. Le voyant d’extraction clignote

rapidement lorsqu’il est enfoncé, et rien ne

coulera de l’appareil si la molette est tournée

vers la position d’extraction. Vous pouvez laisser

l’appareil refroidir pendant quelques minutes ou

effectuer la procédure suivante.

1. Assurez-vous que la molette est sur la

position MARCHE / ARRÊT

2. Placez un pichet ou une tasse à lait vide

sur le plan de travail, en vous assurant que

l’extrémité de la buse à vapeur est bien à

l’intérieur.

3. Appuyez sur le bouton d’extraction, le

voyant clignotera pour indiquer que

l’appareil est trop chaud

4. Tournez la molette dans le sens horaire vers

la position Vapeur, et la vapeur commencera

à sortir de la buse.

5. L’appareil démarre automatiquement

son cycle de refroidissement, la pompe

fonctionnera par impulsions en faisant

passer de la vapeur puis de l’eau à travers

la buse à vapeur. Le cycle complet durera

environ 40 secondes.

6. Une fois l’appareil sufsamment refroidi, le

voyant d’extraction restera allumé et l’eau

cessera de couler.

7. Tournez la molette en position « Veille ».

8. L’appareil est maintenant prêt à faire un

nouvel expresso.

Distributeur d’eau chaude

Votre machine à expresso Breville Bijou Barista

distribue de l’eau chaude à partir de la buse à

vapeur pour une utilisation lors de la préparation

de grandes boissons au café.

1. Placez votre tasse d’expresso sur le plan

de travail et l’embout de la buse à vapeur

dedans.

2. Appuyez sur le bouton extraction et assurez-

vous que le voyant lumineux est allumé et la

machine prête à l’emploi.

3. Tournez la molette dans le sens horaire vers

la position vapeur / eau chaude. La buse à

vapeur distribuera de l’eau chaude.

4. Lorsque vous atteignez la quantité d’eau

chaude souhaitée, tournez la molette sur la

position « Veille ».

PROGRAMME DE NETTOYAGE

Assurez-vous que la machine à expresso

Breville Bijou Barista est débranchée et a

totalement refroidi avant le nettoyage. Nous vous

recommandons de laver les pièces à la main

pour préserver leur apparence. Ne plongez pas

l’appareil, le cordon d’alimentation et la prise

dans de l’eau ou tout autre liquide.

Expresso

1. Une fois votre expresso obtenu, retirez

le porte-ltre et jetez le marc d’expresso.

Retournez le « clip du porte-ltre » situé

dans la poignée pour l’accrocher au bord du

ltre, le maintenant ainsi en place pendant

que vous jetez le marc d’expresso. Cela

permet de maintenir le ltre en place tout en

éliminant le marc d’expresso.

2. Retirez le ltre du porte-ltre en le tournant

jusqu’à ce que la bosse du ltre soit alignée

avec l’encoche. Lavez le ltre et le porte-

ltre à l’eau chaude et au savon doux

liquide.

3. Remettez le ltre dans le porte-ltre, et ce

dernier dans la machine à expresso Breville

Bijou Barista. Suivez les mêmes étapes que

pour faire un café, mais sans mettre de café

dans le ltre. Jetez l’eau écoulée dans la

tasse.

4. Retirez le porte-ltre de l’appareil et séchez-

le entièrement.

À NOTER : Le porte-ltre ne va PAS au

lave-vaisselle.

Buse à vapeur

1. Avec un chiffon humide, essuyez le métal

de la buse à vapeur. L’embout peut être

dévissé pour être nettoyé si besoin.

2. Remplissez le réservoir et placez un pichet

sous la buse à vapeur.

3. Appuyez sur le bouton Vapeur, attendez

que le voyant reste allumé puis effectuez le

« cycle de refroidissement » comme indiqué

dans le manuel d’utilisation. La protection

en caoutchouc de la buse à vapeur peut

être retirée et nettoyée si besoin. Dévissez

simplement l’embout de la buse à vapeur,

et faites glisser la protection de caoutchouc.

Utilisez si besoin un peu d’eau pour

humidier la protection et l’aider à glisser le

long de la buse.

Vider le ramasse-gouttes

1. Lorsque la ramasse-gouttes est rempli,

faites glisser doucement la ramasse-goutte

hors de la machine à expresso Breville Bijou

Barista, retirez le couvercle et jetez l’eau.

2. Replacez le couvercle sur le ramasse-

gouttes puis remettez-le dans l’appareil.

DÉTARTRAGE

Après une utilisation continue, votre machine à

expresso Breville Bijou Barista peut accumuler

des dépôts minéraux et nécessiter un

détartrage.

Nous vous recommandons de détartrer votre

appareil tous les 4 à 6 mois, bien que cette

période dépende de la dureté de l’eau et de la

fréquence d’utilisation.

IMPORTANT : Si le cycle de détartrage n’est

pas terminé ou est arrêté à mi-chemin de

l’une des étapes de détartrage, vous devrez

recommencer le cycle de détartrage depuis le

début.

Détartrage :

1. Versez 2,5 cuillères à soupe de vinaigre

blanc dans le réservoir à eau vide. Ajoutez

1,5 l d’eau. Mélangez.

2. Replacez le réservoir à eau dans l’appareil.

3. Mettez un ltre dans le porte-ltre et insérez

le porte-ltre dans la machine à expresso

Breville Bijou Barista, sans café à l’intérieur.

4. Placez un pichet ou un bol sur le ramasse-

gouttes.

5. ALLUMEZ l’appareil et appuyez sur le

bouton Extraction. Attendez que le voyant

lumineux reste allumé.

6. Tournez la molette sur la position

« Extraction ».

7. L’eau coulera pendant 60 secondes, puis

l’appareil s’arrêtera automatiquement.

8. Replacez la molette en position « Veille » et

jetez l’eau.

9. Posez un pichet ou un bol sur le ramasse-

gouttes et placez-y l’embout de la buse à

vapeur.

10. Assurez-vous d’avoir appuyé sur le bouton

d’extraction et que le voyant est bien allumé.

11. Tournez la molette dans le sens horaire en

position Vapeur.

12. L’eau coulera pendant 60 secondes, puis

l’appareil s’arrêtera automatiquement.

13. Replacez la molette en position « Veille » et

jetez l’eau.

14. Rincez le réservoir à eau et le porte-ltre à

l’eau chaude et au savon doux liquide.

15. Remplissez à nouveau le réservoir au

maximum puis répétez l’opération à partir

de l’étape 2.

5. Drehen Sie den Drehschalter auf die

Position „Brew“'.

6. Lassen Sie die Maschine laufen und lassen

Sie dabei Wasser durch den Siebträger

laufen. Die Maschine schaltet sich nach 60

Sekunden automatisch aus.

HINWEIS: Achten Sie darauf, dass nicht

zu viel Wasser in die Kanne oder Schüssel

läuft, bzw. schalten Sie die Maschine

manuell aus, sofern ein Überlaufen droht.

8. Wenn die Maschine die Ausgabe beendet

hat, drehen Sie den Drehschalter auf die

Position „Standby“.

9. Entsorgen Sie das Wasser. Ihre Breville®

Bijou Barista ist einsatzbereit!

WIE SIE IHRE(N) ERSTE(N)

ESPRESSO-SHOT(S) ZUBEREITEN

1. Füllen Sie den Wassertank bis zur Markierung

„MAX“ mit sauberem, geltertem Wasser.

2. Schalten Sie die Breville Bijou Barista EIN,

indem Sie die Netztaste an der Vorderseite

des Geräts drücken.

3. HINWEIS: Die Kontrollleuchte der

Brühanzeige pulsiert, während die Maschine

aufheizt, und leuchtet, wenn die Breville

Bijou Barista betriebsbereit ist.

4. Wählen Sie die Filtergröße: 1-Shot-Filter

oder 2-Shot-Filter. Vergewissern Sie sich,

dass die Beule am Filter mit der Kerbe am

Espresso-Portalter übereinstimmt, und

setzen Sie den Filter in den Espresso-

Portalter.

5. Geben Sie Espressomehl in den Filter.

a. Tampen (drücken) Sie das Espressomehl

mit dem Tamper gleichmäßig fest.

Wischen Sie dann die Kanten ab, um

überschüssiges Kaffeemehl zu entfernen.

6. Setzen Sie den Espresso-Portalter in die

Maschine ein:

a. Halten Sie den Griff des Espresso-

Siebträgers ach.

b. Setzen Sie den Espresso-Siebkopf

im 45°-Winkel ein (links).

c. Drehen Sie den Griff des Espresso-

Siebträgers im 90°-Winkel. Der

Espresso-Portalter sollte sich in

einer zentrierten Position benden.

7. Stellen Sie die Tasse unter den Espresso-

Portalter.

8. Drehen Sie den Drehschalter auf die

Position „Brew“ und die Ausgabe des

Espressos beginnt automatisch. Die

Brühstatusanzeige leuchtet für die Dauer

des Ausgabedurchlaufs.

9. Wenn die gewünschte Menge Kaffee

ausgegeben wurde, drehen Sie den

Drehschalter in die Position „Standby“.

HINWEIS: Der Kaffee ießt noch eine kurze

Zeit weiter, nachdem der Drehschalter auf

die Position „Standby“ gestellt wurde, da der

Kaffee aus dem Portalter abläuft.

MILCH AUFSCHÄUMEN – SO GEHT‘S

1. Füllen Sie den Wassertank bis zur

Markierung „MAX“ mit sauberem, geltertem

Wasser.

2. Füllen Sie einen Milchkrug oder eine Tasse

etwa zu einem Drittel oder zur Hälfte mit

kalter Milch.

HINWEIS: Jede Art von Milch kann

verwendet werden – Soja, Reis, Mandel,

Kokosnuss usw., allerdings erzeugt

Vollmilch den besten Milchschaum.

3. Drücken Sie die Dampf-Taste.

HINWEIS: Die Kontrollleuchte für die

Bereitschaft pulsiert, während das Wasser

aufgeheizt wird. Sobald die Maschine die

richtige Temperatur erreicht hat, leuchtet die

Bereitschaftsanzeige.

4. Halten Sie die Spitze der Dampanze knapp

unter die Oberäche der Milch.

5. Drehen Sie den Drehschalter auf Dampf,

damit Dampf aus der Dampanze

abgegeben wird. Schäumen Sie Ihre Milch,

bis sie die gewünschte Konsistenz und

Temperatur erreicht hat.

HINWEIS: Das Aufschäumen von Milch

erzeugt ein zischendes Geräusch. Seien Sie

in der Nähe von heißem Dampf vorsichtig,

um Verbrennungen und Verbrühungen zu

vermeiden.

6. Wenn die Ausgabe beendet ist, drehen Sie

den Drehschalter auf die Position „Standby“.

Nehmen Sie dann die Dampanze aus dem

Milchkännchen oder der Tasse.

durchgeführt werden, da sie dann zu heiß

für die Kaffeezubereitung ist.

Wenn Sie mehrere Getränke mit

aufgeschäumter Milch zubereiten, sollten

Sie zuerst die Espresso-Shots zubereiten,

bevor Sie die Milch aufschäumen.

7. Denken Sie daran, die Dampanze nach

jedem Gebrauch zu reinigen. Eine Anleitung

dazu nden Sie im Abschnitt Reinigung.

Hilfreiche Tipps zum Aufschäumen von

Milch:

1. Halten Sie die Spitze der

Dampanze knapp unter die

Oberäche der Milch.

2. Positionieren Sie die Dampanze

und das Milchkännchen oder die

Tasse in einem Winkel, der es der

Milch ermöglicht, sich in einem

Strudelmuster zu bewegen.

3. Wenn der Milchstand steigt,

senken Sie das Milchkännchen

oder die Tasse ab, um die Spitze

der Dampanze knapp unter der

Oberäche zu halten.

4. Wenn die gewünschte Textur erreicht

ist, tauchen Sie die Dampanze zur

Hälfte ein.

Abkühlzyklus

Nach dem Dämpfen ist die Maschine zu heiß,

um sofort wieder Kaffee zuzubereiten. Die

Kontrollleuchte der Brühtaste blinkt schnell,

wenn sie gedrückt wird, und die Maschine

gibt nichts aus, wenn der Drehschalter auf die

Position „Brew“ gestellt wird. Sie können die

Maschine einige Minuten lang auf natürliche

Weise abkühlen lassen oder das folgende

Verfahren durchführen.

1. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der

Drehschalter auf der Position „Off“ steht.

2. Stellen Sie einen leeren Milchkrug oder eine

Tasse auf die Arbeitsäche und achten Sie

darauf, dass sich das Ende der Dampanze

darin bendet.

3. Drücken Sie die Brühtaste, sodass die

Kontrollleuchte blinkt, um anzuzeigen, dass

die Maschine übertemperiert ist.

4. Bewegen Sie den Drehschalter im

Uhrzeigersinn auf die Dampfposition, damit

der Dampfausstoß beginnt.

5. Die Maschine startet automatisch ihren

Abkühlungszyklus, die Pumpe arbeitet in

Impulsen und gibt Dampfstöße und dann

Wasser durch die Dampanze aus. Der

gesamte Zyklus dauert etwa 40 Sekunden.

6. Sobald die Maschine ausreichend abgekühlt

ist, leuchtet die Kontrollleuchte der Brühtaste

dauerhaft auf, und es wird kein Wasser

mehr aus der Dampanze ausgegeben.

7. Drehen Sie den Drehschalter auf die

Position „Standby“'.

8. Die Maschine ist nun bereit für die

Zubereitung Ihres nächsten Espressos.

Heißwasser-Spender

Ihre Breville Bijou Barista kann heißes Wasser

aus der Dampflanze ausgeben, wenn Sie Café

Americano zubereiten möchten.

1. Stellen Sie die Tasse mit dem Espresso auf

die Arbeitsäche und setzen Sie das Ende

der Dampanze hinein.

2. Drücken Sie die Brühtaste und vergewissern

Sie sich, dass die Kontrollleuchte leuchtet

und die Maschine betriebsbereit ist.

3. Drehen Sie den Drehschalter im

Uhrzeigersinn auf die Position Dampf/

Heißwasser. Es wird heißes Wasser aus

der Dampanze ausgegeben.

4. Wenn die gewünschte Menge Wasser

ausgegeben wurde, drehen Sie den

Drehschalter in die Position „Standby“.

ROUTINEMÄSSIGE REINIGUNG

Vergewissern Sie sich, dass Ihre Breville Bijou

Barista vom Stromnetz getrennt und vollständig

abgekühlt ist, bevor Sie sie reinigen. Wir

empfehlen, alle Teile von Hand zu waschen, um

ihr Aussehen zu erhalten. Tauchen Sie weder

das Gerät selbst noch Netzkabel oder Stecker in

Wasser oder andere Flüssigkeiten.

Espresso

1. Wenn Sie Ihren Espresso fertiggestellt

haben, entfernen Sie den Portalter, um

den Espressosatz zu entsorgen. Klappen

Sie den im Griff bendlichen „Filterhalteclip“

so um, dass er über den Rand des Filters

einhakt und diesen festhält, während Sie

den Espressosatz entsorgen. Dies hilft, den

Filter zu sichern und an seinem Platz zu

halten, während der „Puk“ herausgeklopft

wird.

2. Entfernen Sie den Filter aus dem Espresso-

Portalter, indem Sie den Filter drehen,

bis die Beule mit der Kerbe ausgerichtet

ist. Waschen Sie den Filter und den

Espresso-Portalter mit Wasser und milder

Flüssigseife.

3. Setzen Sie den Filter wieder in den

Espresso-Portalter ein und setzen Sie den

Espresso-Portalter wieder in die Breville

Bijou Barista ein. Befolgen Sie die gleichen

Schritte für das Brühen von Espresso,

jedoch ohne Espresso im Filter. Entsorgen

Sie das Wasser in der Tasse.

4. Nehmen Sie den Espresso-Portalter

aus der Maschine und trocknen Sie ihn

gründlich.

HINWEIS: Der Espresso-Portalter ist

NICHT spülmaschinenfest.

Dampanze

1. Wischen Sie das Metall der Dampanze

mit einem feuchten Tuch ab. Das Ende der

Dampanze kann bei Bedarf zur Reinigung

abgeschraubt werden.

2. Füllen Sie den Wassertank und stellen Sie

eine Kanne unter die Dampanze.

3. Drücken Sie die Dampftaste, warten Sie,

bis die Kontrollleuchte dauerhaft leuchtet

und führen Sie dann den „Abkühlzyklus“

durch, wie an anderer Stelle im Handbuch

beschrieben. Die Gummiabdeckung der

Dampanze kann bei Bedarf zur Reinigung

abgenommen werden. Schrauben Sie

einfach das Ende der Dampanze ab, und

schieben Sie die Gummiabdeckung von der

Lanze. Es kann von Vorteil sein, Wasser

als Schmiermittel zu verwenden, um das

Gleiten der Gummiabdeckung entlang der

Länge der Lanze zu unterstützen.

Entleeren der Abtropfschale

1. Wenn die Abtropfschale voll ist, ziehen Sie

sie vorsichtig aus der Breville Bijou Barista,

entfernen Sie die Abdeckung und entsorgen

Sie das Wasser.

2. Setzen Sie die Abdeckung wieder auf die

Abtropfschale und schieben Sie sie in die

Maschine.

ENTKALKEN

Nach fortgesetztem Gebrauch kann Ihre Breville

Bijou Barista Mineralablagerungen entwickeln

und muss daher entkalkt werden.

Wir empfehlen, Ihre Maschine alle 4 bis 6

Monate zu entkalken, wobei dieser Zeitraum

von der Wasserhärte und der Häufigkeit der

Benutzung abhängt.

WICHTIG: Wenn der Entkalkungsdurchlauf nicht

beendet oder auf halbem Weg durch einen der

Entkalkungsschritte gestoppt wird, müssen Sie

den Entkalkungsdurchlauf erneut von vorne

beginnen.

ENTKALKEN:

1. Geben Sie 2,5 Esslöffel weißen Essig in

einen leeren Wassertank. Füllen Sie 1,5 l

Wasser in den Wassertank. Lassen Sie die

Lösung sich gründlich vermischen.

2. Setzen Sie den Wassertank wieder ein.

3. Setzen Sie einen der beiden Filter in den

Espresso-Portalter ein und setzen Sie ihn

in die Breville Bijou Barista ein, ohne dass

sich Kaffee darin bendet.

4. Stellen Sie eine große Kanne oder

eine Schüssel auf die Abdeckung der

Abtropfschale.

5. Schalten Sie die Maschine EIN und drücken

Sie die Brühtaste. Warten Sie, bis die

Kontrollleuchte der Taste dauerhaft leuchtet.

6. Drehen Sie den Drehschalter auf die

Position „Brew“'.

7. Das Wasser wird 60 Sekunden lang

kontinuierlich ausgegeben. Danach stoppt

die Maschine automatisch die Ausgabe.

8. Drehen Sie den Drehschalter zurück in die

„Standby“-Position und entsorgen Sie das

Wasser.

9. Stellen Sie eine große Kanne oder eine

Schüssel auf die Abtropfschale und setzen

Sie die Dampanze ein.

10. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Brühtaste

gedrückt wurde und durchgehend leuchtet.

11. Drehen Sie den Drehschalter im

Uhrzeigersinn auf die Position Dampf.

12. Das Wasser wird 60 Sekunden lang

kontinuierlich ausgegeben. Danach stoppt

die Maschine die Ausgabe.

13. Drehen Sie den Drehschalter zurück in die

„Standby“-Position und entsorgen Sie das

Wasser.

14. Spülen Sie den Wassertank und den

Espresso-Portalter mit warmem Wasser

und milder Flüssigseife.

15. Füllen Sie den Wassertank bis „Max“ mit

sauberem Wasser auf und wiederholen Sie

den Vorgang ab Schritt 2.
