Mains cable
Always handle the mains cable by the mains plug and do not pull on the cable itself.
Do not place the contact grill, furniture or other heavy objects on the mains cable and ensure
that it is not kinked.
Never tie a knot in the mains cable and do not tie cables together. Ensure that the mains cable
is placed so that no one can trip over it and it does not cause an obstruction.
Make sure that the mains cable does not touch any hot surfaces of the contact grill.
Do not use adapter plugs or extension cables that do not comply with applicable safety
standards, and do not make any alterations to the mains cable! If the mains cable is
damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its customer service representative or a
similarly qualified person to prevent any safety hazards.

Prior to use
Remove the contact grill from the packaging and remove the packaging material completely. Check
the contact grill for signs of damage. If damaged, the contact grill must not be used.
Place the contact grill on a flat, heat-resistant surface. If the surface is sensitive, place a heat-

grease tray (10). Turn the thermostat (9) to "●". Open the cover and lightly grease the grill plates
(3 and 6) with suitable grease, margarine or oil. This enables production-related residue on the grill
plates (3 and 6) to be removed more easily. Then insert the mains plug into a mains socket that is
always easily accessible. Turn the thermostat (9) to "MAX" and preheat the contact grill once with
the cover open until the READY LED (8) lights up to indicate that the temperature has been reached.
When using the device for the first time, production-related residue may give rise to a slight odour

ensure that there is sufficient ventilation. Open a window if necessary. After approximately 15
