Safety precautions
Read and follow the operating and safety instructions. See the Safety Precautions chapter
in the printer’s user guide.
You are expected to have the appropriate technical training and experience necessary to
be aware of hazards to which you may be exposed in performing a task, and to take
appropriate measures to minimize the risks to yourself and to others.
Usage instructions
1. Go to the printer's front panel, and tap , then Maintenance > Fusing lamps
calibration with tray.
2. Clean the recoating roller to avoid material dropping onto the tray.
3. Insert the build unit into the printer and clean the build-unit platform.
4. Locate the label on the back of the calibration tray and use the Up and Down buttons
on the front panel to enter the number that you see on the label.
5. Place the calibration tray on the platform with the label facing down.
6. Follow the instructions on the front panel. Calibration lasts around 40 minutes.
7. After the calibration, remove the tray from the build unit, clean it if necessary, and
store it in its original package.
Tray handling and storage
1. The calibration tray is used to calibrate the fusing lamps. Avoid getting dirt and
scratches on the surface of the tray.
2. Store the tray indoors in the original package. HP highly recommends storing it in the
same room as the printer, to avoid temperature drift during calibration.
3. Do not expose the tray to sunlight.
Cleaning the tray
1. If there is material on the calibration tray, clean the tray using water, a neutral
detergent, and a soft cloth.
2. Do not use blades, brushes, or abrasives to clean the tray.
