8. Getting started
You can use the table-top barbecue optionally with or without the stand. When used without the stand, it
can be placed directly on the dining table and prepare food in front of your guests.
If there is not sufficient space on the dining table, you can use the stand. The stand also features a
practical storage tray (14) on which you can place spices, tongs, and other accessories that you may
need during food preparation.
8.1 Assembling the stand
To assemble the stand, proceed as follows:
1. Attach the short tube (A) to the long tube (B).
2. Insert the assembled tubes from below into
one corner of the storage tray (14), until the
two bores of both tubes are aligned with the
bore on the storage tray (14).

prevent the screw (13) from turning at the same time.
Warning about property damage
Don't force the wing nuts (12) when tightening. Tighten them lightly. Otherwise, the stand
may be damaged.
8.2 Assembling the table-top barbecue
1. Place the grill plate (2) on the grill pan (7). Ensure that the grease outlet from the grill plate (2) is on
the back of the table-top barbecue, so that the fat can run through it into the grease collection
tray (3).
8.3 Placing the table-top barbecue on the stand
1. Place the stand on a flat, stable surface.
2. Disconnect the barbecue from the mains. To do this, disconnect the power cable plug (5) from the
mains socket.
3. Hold the table-top barbecue at the sides, using the handles below the grill pan (7).
4. Place the barbecue on the stand, ensuring that it sitting centrally on the stand and is balanced.
SilverCrest STGR 2200 A1

8.4 Using the tabletop barbecue outdoors
1. Insert the two straps on the outside of the wind guard (1) from behind into the designated slits on the
left and right of the grill pan (7). Hold the wind guard (1) at a slight angle.
2. Push the rear side of the wind guard (1) into the two brackets at the rear of the grill pan (7).
8.5 Using the barbecue for the first time
When you heat the barbecue for the first time, a small amount of smoke may be produced on
the heating element (4). For this reason, the device should be heated and then left to cool
again twice before preparing grilled food for the first time. During this process, open a
window to ensure sufficient room ventilation, or perform the heating process outdoors.
1. Clean the grill plate (2) using warm water and detergent. This removes dust and any packaging
residue. See also "Maintenance/cleaning" on page 17.
2. Connect the table-top barbecue to a live mains socket using the power cable (5).
3. Turn the control dial (8) to the MAX position. Allow the table-top barbecue to heat up for approx. 10
to 15 minutes. During this process, open a window to ensure sufficient room ventilation, or perform
the heating process outdoors.
4. Switch off the barbecue. Turn the control dial (8) to the OFF position.
5. Remove the power cable plug (5) from the mains socket and leave the table-top barbecue to cool.
6. Repeat steps 2 to 4.
You can now prepare grilled food using your table-top barbecue.
8.6 Use
Place the device on an even, non-slip and dry surface.
Risk of burns!
Do not place any metal objects (e.g. spoons, forks, knives, pan lids, etc.) on the grill plate
(2). These can become very hot and cause burns.
When in use, never touch the surface of the grill plate (2) or the wind guard (1).
Transport or move the appliance only after it has completely cooled down. Hold or carry
the device only using the intended carry handles (10).
Risk of fire!
Do not place the device on textile surfaces such as a tablecloth.
Do not place the device unit on metal surfaces. These may become very hot and cause a
fire.
SilverCrest STGR 2200 A1
16 - English
Do not place the device under or directly next to flammable objects, e.g. curtains or
blinds.
Never use the table-top barbecue with charcoal, methylated spirit, or other flammable
materials.
Warning about property damage
Switch off the device (turn the control dial anti-clockwise to the OFF position) before
connecting the mains plug to a mains socket.
Do not cover the grill plate (2) with aluminium foil, aluminium trays, or other heat-resistant
material. This can cause damage to the table-top barbecue by overheating.
1. Connect the table-top barbecue to a live mains socket using the power cable (5).
2. Switch the table-top barbecue on. Turn the control dial (8) clockwise to the MAX position. While the
barbecue is heating up, the heating indicator (9) is lit up.
We recommend the "MAX" setting for normal grilling.
However, you can also select a lower value than MAX (e.g. for keeping food warm that
has already been grilled). In this case, the tabletop barbecue heats up to the set
temperature and then switches itself off temporarily (the heating indicator light goes out).
As soon as the grill plate (2) falls below the set temperature, the heating process is
restarted (the heating indicator lights up again).
In the MAX setting, the table-top barbecue (and the indicator lamp) switches off
temporarily when a temperature of 220 °C is reached. As soon as the grill plate (2) falls
below this temperature, the heating process is restarted (the heating indicator lights up
again).
3. Allow the table-top barbecue to heat up for 10 minutes and then place the foodstuff on the grill
plate (2).
The barbecue offers a low-fat and healthy way to cook meat, fish, sausages, and
vegetables.
Do not puncture meat to prevent moisture loss. Otherwise, it can become dry.
Season the grilled food and turn it from time to time. We recommend using wooden
barbecue tongs.
4. When you have finished grilling, switch the table-top barbecue off. To turn off the device, turn the
control dial (8) anti-clockwise to the OFF position.
5. Remove the prepared food from the grill plate (2).
6. Remove the power cable plug (5) from the mains socket and clean the table-top barbecue. See
"Maintenance/cleaning" on page 17.
