MT 221
Your Whirlpool microwave oven measures the power levels by wattage. It is important to vary the
power according to the food you are cooking. Following are our suggestions to choose setting:
HOW TO SET THE CLOCK
2. Turn the ADJUST KNOB counter clockwise a full turn (360º) until you hear a beep and
the two left digits (hours) are flashing.
HOW TO OPERATE THE OVEN
1. Select the desired power level or function by turning the MULTIFUNCTION KNOB.
NOTE: Never operate the oven empty when using microwaves
3. Turn the ADJUST KNOB clockwise until the present time (hours) is displayed.
4. Turn the ADJUST KNOB counter clockwise again to switch to setting the minutes.
5. Turn the ADJUST KNOB clockwise until the present time (minutes) is displayed.
6. Turn the ADJUST KNOB counter clockwise again until you hear a beep and the digits
stop flashing.
1. Ensure the MULTIFUNCTION KNOB is in the STOP position.
2. Turn the ADJUST KNOB clockwise to set the desired time. The oven starts automatically.
HOW TO PAUSE OR STOP COOKING
To pause cooking:
The cooking can be paused
to check, turn or stir the food
by opening the door. The
setting will be maintained for 10
minutes while the door is open.
To continue cooking:
Close the door. The cooking
is resumed from where it
was paused when the door
was opened.
If you don’t want to continue
cooking:
Remove the food, turn the adjust
knob to zero and close the door.
A beep will signal once a minute for
10 minutes when the cooking is
finished. Open the door to cancel the
signal.

NOTE: Never operate the oven empty when using microwaves
COOK & REHEAT
Use this function for normal cooking and
reheating with microwaves, or quick reheating
(Jet) of items such as clear soups, coffee, tea
or other foods with high water content.
ACCESSORIES
TURNTABLE SUPPORT GLASS TURNTABLE
COVER
Use the turntable support under
the Glass turntable. Never put any
other utensils on the turntable
support.
Use the Glass turntable with all
cooking methods. It collects the
dripping juices and food particles
that otherwise would stain and soil
the interior of the oven.
The Cover is used to cover food
during cooking and reheating with
microwaves only and helps to
reduce spattering, retain food moisture as well
as reducing the time needed.
Use the cover for two level reheating
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
Once the cooking process has been
started:
You may alter the time by turning the Adjust
knob to increase or decrease the time.
You may also change the power level during
operation, by turning the multifunction knob to
another microwave power setting.
l Fit the turntable support in the oven.
l Place the Glass turntable on the turntable
support.
TIMER
The Timer function is useful when you need
an egg clock as reminder or measuring the
standing time for such items as a big roast, or
chicken.
Use the Timer function when the cookbook
recommends a standing time after cooking.
The time can easily be increased by turning
the Adjust knob.
KEEP WARM
Use this function for keeping food warm for a
while or for softening butter, cheese and ice
cream.
