Introduction
The Solid Maple Cabinet Tops are as beautiful
as they are functional. While you enjoy the soft
grain and subtle color variations of your top, you
also can use it as a true cutting surface. Coated
with the same food safe Durakryl finish as the
workbench tops, these maple tops require little or
no maintenance while bringing together the warm
texture and feel of solid wood and the durability
and longevity of a solid surface.
Note: These are designed as workbench and
shop cabinet tops. If used as kitchen countertops,
additional sanding and finishing will be required.
Preventing & Correcting Crowning
Maple workbench tops are flat when glued togeth-
er at the factory. However, when wood travels
from one climate to another, crowning or warping
may occur.
Additionally, crowing or warping may occur if you
improperly store your workbench top before you
install it. If you cannot immediately install your
workbench top, store it in a dry place and in such
a manner that the wood is well supported across
its length and can "breathe" on all sides.
If crowning or warping does occur, place the
workbench top on two level sawhorses with the
crowned side facing up and the sawhorses just
under each end of the workbench. The wood will
return to true.
