∙ Caution: When lling the appliance
with fresh water shortly after a brewing
cycle is completed, there is a danger
of scalding from hot water or steam
escaping through the water outlet.
Setting the time
∙Insert the plug into a suitable wall outlet.
None of the indicator lights will come on.
The coffee maker is switched off, the
display shows 12:00.
∙ To set the time, rst press the PROG
key.
∙ The internal clock uses a 24-hour display
format. The current time is set by using
the h button for the hours, while the min
button is used to set the minutes.
Example:
∙The current time is 15.30 (3.30 pm).
∙ Press the PROG key; the display shows
Clock.
∙ Press the h button repeatedly (or keep it
pressed for the necessary length of time)
until the display shows 15:00.
∙ Press the min button (or keep it pressed)
until the display shows 15:30.
∙ After around 5 seconds, Clock
disappears from the display and the
appliance is ready for use.
Timer
∙To start the brewing process with a
delayed timer setting, you must rst set
the timer to the desired time.
∙ Press the PROG button twice. The
display shows Timer and the time last
entered, or 12:00.
∙ Use the buttons h und min to set
the desired time. (If no input is made
within 5 seconds, the Timer indicator
disappears.)
∙ Press the On/Off button twice to turn
the appliance on. The blue indicator light
AUTO comes on. At the pre-programmed
time, the coffee maker will automatically
switch on. The blue indicator light goes
out and the red light comes on.
On/Off button
The On/Off button is used to switch
between the three settings 0-I-AUTO:
0 - The appliance is switched off. No
indicator light is on.
I - The appliance is switched on.
The red main indicator light
comes on.
AUTO - The appliance automatically
switches on at the pre-
programmed time (Timer). The
blue indicator light AUTO comes
on.
Making coffee
1. Fillingwithwater:
Open the water container and ll it with the
desired quantity of water, then close the lid.
2. Preparingthejug:
Replace the lid on the jug, and then place
it in the appliance. If correctly inserted, the
lid will disable the drip-stop mechanism in
the lter holder during the brewing cycle.
3. Insertingthepaperlter:
Open the swing-out lter sideways and
insert a size-4 paper lter into the lter
holder, rst folding down the perforated
sides of the lter.
4. Fillingwithgroundcoffee:
For each regular-sized cup (125 ml), a
measure of about 6 g (= 1½ - 2 teaspoons)
of medium or nely ground coffee will
be required. Close the swing-out lter
afterwards.
