Bitte lesen Sie die vorliegende Gebrauchsanleitung der Hand-
schuhe für Motorradfahrer im Straßenverkehr vor der Nutzung
sorgfältig durch, beachten Sie die genannten Hinweise und bewahren
Sie diese Anleitung bis zum Nutzungsende der Handschuhe auf.

1 | Allgemeines
1.1 | EU Anforderungen
Diese Handschuhe erfüllen die Grundanforderungen an Sicherheit
und Gesundheit der PSA-Verordnung (EU) 2016/425. Die Konformität
mit den Anforderungen dieser Verordnung wurde anhand einer
EU-Baumusterprüfung durch eine notizierte Stelle nachgewiesen.
Eine Liste der Zertizierungsstellen nden Sie am Anfang dieser
Gebrauchsanleitung.
Im produktspezischen Teil nden Sie die Kennnummer, welches Institut
die EU-Baumusterprüfung für die spezische PSA durchgeführt hat.
Die folgende Kennzeichnung ist an allen Schutzhandschuhen für
Motorradfahrer im Straßenverkehr (im Folgenden Handschuhe genannt)
angebracht und enthält die beschriebenen Informationen:

1.2 | Allgemeine Leistungseigenschaften
Die Prüfung der Handschuhe erfolgte gemäß der Europäischen Norm
EN 13594:2015.
Gemäß EN 13594:2015 gibt es zwei Leistungsklassen in Bezug auf den
gebotenen Schutz. Diese zwei Leistungsklassen wurden deniert, um die
Einführung von zertiziertem Schutz für eine möglichst große Zahl von
Motorradfahrern zu erreichen. Die Größe des Risikos oder der Gefahr,
der ein Motorradfahrer ausgesetzt ist, hängt stark von der Fahrweise
und der Art eines Unfalls ab.
„Leistungsklasse 1“ ist die Mindestleistung, die Handschuhe erbringen
müssen, um bei einem Unfall tatsächlich Schutz zu bieten. Handschuhe
der „Leistungsklasse 1“ verfügen zudem über eine optimale Ergonomie
für alle Fahrstile. „Leistungsklasse 2“ wurde für Fälle eingeführt, in
denen Motorradfahrer durch ihren Fahrstil einem größeren Unfallrisiko
ausgesetzt sind. Handschuhe der „Leistungsklasse 2“ bieten eine höhere
Schutzwirkung, die jedoch auch zu Einbußen in der Ergonomie führen
kann und daher nicht für alle Fahrer geeignet ist.
Die folgenden Eigenschaften werden gemäß EN 13594:2015 getestet
und wie folgt bewertet.

Einige Handschuhe verfügen über einen Knöchelschutz.
Der Knöchelschutz muss alle vier Fingerknöchel
abdecken und dient der eingeschränkten
Aufpralldämpfung und als Abriebschutz für den
Handrücken bei Unfällen oder Stürzen vom Motorrad, bei
denen die Hände des Motorradfahrers auf den
Straßenbelag prallen und darauf entlangrutschen
können. Handschuhe mit vorhandenem Knöchelschutz haben im
CE-Piktogramm die Bezeichnung „KP“.
Auch wenn die Schutzhandschuhe bei einigen der erforderlichen Tests
die „Leistungsklasse 2“ erfüllen, kann die Einstufung der Gesamtleistung
„Leistungsklasse 1“ sein. Die Einstufung der Gesamtleistung richtet
sich nach dem geringsten Ergebnis aus allen erforderlichen Tests.
Die erreichten Leistungsklassen der einzelnen Prüfungen sind dem
produktspezischen Teil innerhalb dieser Gebrauchsanleitung zu
entnehmen.
2 | Sicherheit
2.1 | Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Die in diesem Informationsblatt beschriebenen Handschuhe sind für die
Benutzung beim Motorradfahren im Straßenverkehr vorgesehen.
Die Handschuhe können vor Witterungseinüssen schützen, ohne die

für die Betätigung der Bedienelemente des Motorrades erforderliche
Fingerfertigkeit des Trägers unnötig einzuschränken. Zusätzlich können
die Handschuhe im Falle eines Sturzes die Hände und Handgelenke
des Trägers bis zu einem gewissen Grad vor mechanischen Einüssen
schützen. Die besonderen Gefahren bei Motorradunfällen stellen
einerseits Stürze mit dem Motorrad und andererseits Kollisionen mit
anderen Fahrzeugen oder mit festen Objekten am Straßenrand dar.
Zudem bergen mechanische Beanspruchung und Abschürfungen durch
Stürze Verletzungsgefahren.
Bitte bedenken Sie, dass beim Motorradfahren der gesamte Körper
geschützt werden muss und tragen Sie entsprechende Ausrüstung von
Kopf bis Fuß (Helm, Jacke, Hose, Handschuhe und Stiefel).
2.2 | Beschränkung
Diese Handschuhe bieten keinen Schutz vor Chemikalien, extremer
Hitze, offenem Feuer, extrem niedrigen Temperaturen oder anderen
Risiken und Gefahren, die nicht in dieser Gebrauchsanleitung erwähnt
sind.
Keine persönliche Schutzausrüstung (PSA) kann unbegrenzten Schutz
gegen die Risiken eines Sturzes oder Unfalls bieten. Kein Handschuh
kann Verletzungen der Hand hundertprozentig ausschließen.
Motorradfahren ist grundsätzlich eine gefährliche Aktivität und
die Verwendung dieser PSA kann nicht garantieren, dass schwere
Personenschäden verhindert werden.
3 | Anwendung
3.1 | Die richtige Wahl der Handschuhe
Eine Übersicht aller angebotenen Handschuhgrößen nden Sie am Ende
dieser Gebrauchsanleitung.
Die Handschuhe müssen eng an den Händen anliegen und alle
Verschlüsse sicher befestigt werden. Am besten können Sie den
Sitz der Handschuhe überprüfen, indem Sie mit den Händen an den
Lenker eines Motorrades greifen. Sie sollten weder ein unangenehmes
Spanngefühl an den Fingern, Fingerspitzen, am Handrücken oder der
Handinnenäche spüren, noch sollten Sie das Gefühl haben, dass der
Handschuh lose sitzt. Die Fingerspitzen sollten nicht vorn im Handschuh
anstoßen, der Abstand sollte allerdings auch nicht so groß sein, dass
das Griffgefühl eingeschränkt wird. Alle Bedienelemente müssen
einwandfrei zu bedienen sein.
3.2 | Das richtige Befestigen der Handschuhe
Die Handschuhe sind mit ein oder zwei Klettverschlüssen ausgestattet,
die sich am Handgelenk und/oder der Stulpe benden. Die vorhandenen

Klettverschlüsse müssen möglichst straff angezogen werden, ohne
dabei zu schnüren. Es darf nicht möglich sein, die Handschuhe
auszuziehen, ohne vorher den Klettverschluss zu öffnen. Die
Handschuhe sollten so über oder unter dem Jackenärmel getragen
werden, dass Ärmel und Stulpe sich überlappen und im Falle eines
Sturzes möglichst nicht auseinander rutschen können. (Bitte achten Sie
auch beim Kauf ihrer Jacke darauf.)
4 | Sachgerechte Nutzung
4.1 | Sicherheitsprüfung
Folgende Hinweise sind unbedingt zu beachten, denn nur dadurch kann
die ursprüngliche Schutzleistung der Handschuhe gewährleistet werden:
Verwenden Sie zur Reinigung niemals Lösungsmittel oder andere
aggressive Substanzen. Eine Verunreinigung mit nicht zulässigen
Substanzen oder eine nicht ordnungsgemäße Pege kann die
Eigenschaften erheblich beeinträchtigen und die Schutzleistung der
Handschuhe verringern. Die Handschuhe dürfen nicht gefärbt oder
mit Aufklebern beklebt werden. Änderungen an dem Produkt, so
gering sie auch scheinen mögen, sind untersagt. Auch übertriebenes
Verdrehen und/oder Biegen (z.B. auswringen des Handschuhs) stellen
eine unsachgemäße Behandlung dar, weil das Produkt für solche
Belastungen nicht entwickelt wurde.
Eine der oben genannten unsachgemäßen Behandlungen kann zur
Beeinträchtigung der Schutzwirkung, im schlimmsten Fall sogar dem
Verlust der Schutzeigenschaften führen.
Bei unsachgemäßer Behandlung weist die Detlev Louis Motorrad-
Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH (Schweiz: Detlev Louis AG) Regress- oder
Reparaturansprüche zurück.
Vor jeder Anwendung sollten die Handschuhe auf Löcher, Risse o.ä.
untersucht werden. Wenn Sie eine Beschädigung der Handschuhe
feststellen, müssen Sie diese ersetzen. Stellen Sie ebenfalls sicher,
dass die Knöchelprotektoren sich in einem einwandfreien Zustand
benden und sicher an den Handschuhen befestigt sind. Überprüfen Sie,
ob die Klettverschlüsse frei von Verschmutzungen sind, sicher haften
und richtig schließen. Wenn die Handschuhe oder Teile davon erste
Verschleißerscheinungen aufweisen, ersetzen Sie diese umgehend.
Bei einem Sturz und/oder Aufprall können wichtige Komponenten der
Handschuhe beschädigt werden, so dass diese nicht mehr den oben
beschriebenen eingeschränkten Schutz bieten können. Es kann sich
um Beschädigungen handeln, die mit dem bloßen Auge nicht erkennbar
sind. Ersetzen Sie die Handschuhe daher nach jedem Sturz.

4.2 | Kennzeichnung
Zur eindeutigen Identizierung und Rückverfolgung sind die Handschuhe
mit einem Produktionslabel ausgestattet.

4.3 | Haltbarkeit
Die Haltbarkeit der Handschuhe ist abhängig von der Art und Dauer des
Gebrauchs und der angewandten Pege. Grundsätzlich muss diese
PSA 8 Jahre nach Herstellungsdatum ersetzt werden, auch wenn sie
nicht beschädigt wurde. Es können Beschädigungen vorliegen, die nicht
immer durch eine einfache Sichtprüfung festzustellen sind.
4.4 | Pege
Vorhandenen Schmutz lediglich mit einem feuchten Lappen
entfernen. Nach Reinigung der Handschuhe mit den entsprechenden
Lederpegeprodukten behandeln. Wir empfehlen von Zeit zu Zeit,
je nach Beanspruchung, die Imprägnierung des Außenmaterials
aufzufrischen.

4.5 | Fachgerechte Lagerung, Transport und Entsorgung
Die Handschuhe müssen an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort
gelagert werden. Setzen Sie diese nicht dem Sonnenlicht oder direkter
Wärmestrahlung aus. Die Handschuhe sind unbedingt vor Stößen und
dem auiegenden Gewicht anderer Gegenstände zu schützen. Bei der
Lagerung ist zu beachten, dass das Eigengewicht nicht nur punktuell
auiegt. Wurden die Handschuhe gebraucht, muss man diese bei
Raumtemperatur an der Luft trocknen lassen. Föne o. ä. dürfen nicht
verwendet werden, auch das direkte Auegen auf einem Heizkörper
kann schädlich sein. Lassen Sie die Handschuhe beim Transport nicht
für längere Zeit in einem geschlossenen Fahrzeug liegen und setzen
Sie diese keinen sehr hohen oder sehr niedrigen Temperaturen aus.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass sich die Handschuhe beim Transport nicht
unter schweren Gegenständen benden. Die Handschuhe wurden mit
ausgesuchten Materialien produziert, die nach heutigem Wissensstand
für den Menschen als ungefährlich eingestuft werden. Nicht mehr
einsatzfähige Handschuhe müssen, sofern nicht anders gekennzeichnet,
den geltenden Umweltbestimmungen entsprechend entsorgt werden.

Please read these instructions for use for protective gloves for
motorcycle riders in road trac carefully before use, follow the
notes mentioned, and keep these instructions safe until the end of use.

1 | General information
1.1 | EU requirements
These gloves fulll basic requirement of Safety and Health of the PPE
Regulation (EU) 2016/425. Conformity with the requirements set down
in this regulation has been proven by means of an EU type examination
performed by a notied body. You will nd a list of notied bodies at the
beginning of these instructions for use.
You will nd the identication number of the institute that performed the
EU type examination for the specic PPE in the product-specic section.
The following label is axed to all protective gloves for motorcycle
riders in road trac (hereinafter referred to as “gloves”) and contains the

1.2 | General performance features
The gloves were tested in accordance with the European standard
EN 13594:2015.
EN 13594:2015 species two performance classes in respect of the
protection provided. These two performance classes have been dened
in order to introduce certied protection for as many motorcycle riders
as possible. The degree of risk or danger to which a motorcycle rider is
exposed depends greatly on his/her riding style and the nature of any
accident.
“Performance class 1” is the minimum requirement that gloves must
meet in order to provide actual protection in the event of an accident.
“Performance class 1” gloves also have optimum ergonomics for all
riding styles. “Performance class 2” was introduced for cases where
motorcycle riders are at an increased accident risk on account of their
riding style. “Performance class 2” gloves give a higher degree of
protection, but this can make them less ergonomic and therefore they
are not suitable for all motorcycle riders.

Some gloves have knuckle protection. The knuckle
protection must cover all four nger joints and provides
limited impact absorption plus abrasion protection for
the back of the hand in the event of an accident or falling
off the motorcycle, when the rider’s hands may hit the
road and slide across the road surface.
Gloves with knuckle protection are labelled “KP” in the
CE pictogram.
Even if the protective gloves full “Performance class 2” in some of
the required tests, the overall performance may still be classied as
“Performance class 1”. The overall performance is classied based on
the lowest result from all the required tests.
The performance classes achieved in the individual tests are listed in the
product-specic section within this user information.
2 | SAFETY
2.1 | Intended use
The gloves described in this information sheet are designed to be used
for riding motorcycles in road trac.
The gloves can protect against weather conditions, without
unnecessarily restricting the dexterity that the wearer requires for

operating the controls of the motorcycle. In addition, the gloves can
provide a certain degree of mechanical protection to the wearer’s hands
and wrists in the event of an accident. The particular hazards associated
with motorcycle accidents consist, on the one hand, of falling off the
motorcycle and, on the other hand, collisions with other vehicles or solid
objects at the roadside. In addition, mechanical forces and grazing as a
result of landing on the ground pose a risk of injury.
Please keep in mind that the entire body must be protected when
riding motorcycles, and that you should always wear the appropriate
equipment from head to toe (helmet, jacket, trousers, gloves and boots).
2.2 | Restrictions
These gloves do not protect against chemicals, extreme heat, naked
ames, extremely low temperatures or other risks and hazards that are
not mentioned in these instructions for use.
No personal protective equipment (PPE) can offer indenite protection
against the risks associated with a fall or accident. No glove can prevent
hand injuries with one hundred percent certainty. Riding motorcycles is a
dangerous activity in general, and the use of this PPE cannot guarantee
that severe personal injuries will be prevented.
3 | How to use
3.1 | Choosing the correct gloves:
An overview of all available glove sizes can be found at the end of this
manual.
The gloves must be close-tting, and all the fasteners securely fastened.
It is best to check the t of the gloves by grasping the handlebars of
a motorcycle. The gloves should not feel uncomfortably tight on your
ngers, nger tips, back of your hand or palm, nor should they feel loose.
Your nger tips should not touch the end of the glove; however, there
should also not be so much space that grip is restricted. It must be
possible to operate all the controls without any diculty.
3.2 | Fastening your gloves correctly
The gloves have either one or two hook-and-loop fasteners at the wrist
and/or cuff. These must be pulled as tight as possible without being
uncomfortable. You must not be able to pull the glove off without rst
undoing the hook-and-loop fastener. The gloves should be worn over or
under the jacket sleeve in such a way that the sleeve and cuff overlap
and ideally cannot slide apart in the event of a fall.

4 | Correct use
4.1 | Safety checks
It is essential that the following instructions be observed, as this is the
only way to ensure that the original protective capacity of the gloves is
maintained.
Never use solvents or other aggressive substances for cleaning.
Contact with unapproved substances or incorrect care of the gloves may
signicantly affect their features and reduce the protection they provide.
The gloves must not be dyed, nor may adhesive labels be attached.
No modications to the product, however small they may seem, are
permitted.
Excessive twisting and/or bending (e.g. wringing out the glove) also
constitute incorrect handling because the product was not developed to
withstand these kinds of forces.
Such incorrect treatment as mentioned above may result in reduced
protection. At worst, the gloves may become ineffective.
Detlev Louis Motorrad-Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH (Switzerland: Detlev
Louis AG) cannot accept any claims for compensation or for repair
resulting from incorrect treatment.
The gloves should be checked for holes, tears, etc., every time they are
worn. If you notice any damage to the gloves, you must replace them.
Also check that the knuckle protectors are undamaged and securely
attached to the gloves. Check that the hook-and-loop fasteners are clean
and function properly and securely.
As soon as your gloves or parts of the gloves start to show signs of
wear, it is time to replace them.
A fall and/or crash may damage important components of the gloves,
so they will no longer provide the limited protection described above.
Such damage may not be visible to the naked eye. You should therefore
always replace your gloves after a fall.

4.3 | Durability
The durability of the gloves depends on the type and duration of use,
and the degree of care. As a general principle, this PPE must be replaced
eight years from the date of manufacture, even if it does not appear to

4.4 | Care
Only use a damp cloth to remove any dirt. After cleaning your gloves,
treat them with suitable leather care products. We recommend
refreshing the impregnation of the outer material from time to time,
depending on usage.

4.5 | Correct storage, transport and disposal
The gloves must be stored in a dry and well-ventilated place. Do not
expose them to sunlight or direct heat sources.
The gloves must be protected against impacts under all circumstances,
and you should not place heavy objects on them. Avoid storing your
gloves in such a way that their own weight is carried by a few individual
points. After use, let your gloves air-dry at room temperature. Never use
a hairdryer or similar device, or place the gloves directly on a radiator, as
this may cause damage.
When transporting the gloves, do not leave them in a closed vehicle for
an extended period of time, and do not expose them to very high or very
low temperatures. Make sure that no heavy objects are placed on top of
the gloves during transportation.
The gloves were made using selected materials which are classied as
being harmless to humans according to current knowledge.
Gloves that are no longer usable must be disposed of in accordance
with the applicable environmental regulations, unless otherwise
indicated.

1.1 | Exigences CE
Ces gants répondent aux exigences essentielles de santé et sécurité
du Règlement EPI 2016/425. La conformité aux exigences de cet arrêté
a été prouvée par un examen CE de type effectué par un organisme de
contrôle notié. Vous trouverez au début de présent mode d‘emploi une
liste des organismes de contrôle. Dans la partie spécique au produit,
vous trouverez le numéro d‘identication de l‘institut ayant réalisé
l‘examen CE de type pour l‘EPI spécique.
Le marquage suivant est apposé sur tous les gants de protection
pour motards dans la circulation routière (nommés gants ci-après) ; il

1.2 | Performances générales
Les gants ont été testés en laboratoire conformément aux norme
européenne EN 13594:2015
Conformément à EN 13594:2015, il existe deux catégories de
performance en ce qui concerne la protection apportée. Ces deux
catégories de performance ont été dénies an de permettre
l‘introduction d‘une protection certiée pour le plus grand nombre
de motards possible. L‘amplitude du risque ou du danger auquel le
motard est exposé dépend fortement de la façon de conduire et du type
d‘accident. La « catégorie de performance 1 » représente la performance
minimale que les gants doivent fournir pour offrir une protection réelle
en cas d‘accident. Les gants de la « catégorie de performance 1 » sont
en outre parfaitement ergonomiques pour tous les styles de conduite.
La « catégorie de performance 2 » a été introduite pour les cas où les
motards sont exposés à un risque d‘accident plus élevé du fait de leur
style de conduite. Les gants de la « catégorie de performance 2 » offrent
une protection plus importante pouvant toutefois affecter l‘ergonomie,
ils ne sont donc pas adaptés à tous les conducteurs.
Les caractéristiques suivantes ont été testées conformément à la norme
EN 13594:2015 et évaluées comme suit.
